hey guys, was wondering if you could help me out.

i did an auction on gunbroker.com a couple months ago and i was suppose to receive with it ammo as well. the guy i bought it from has delivered everything but the ammo and says that he had to go to some class or get a certificate in order to ship it.

is this true or is he just ****ing with me?
anyone who has dealt with gunbroker before, what can i do to report it or get reimbursed if he is lying?

thanks in advance!

Do you know what state he's in?

To get ammo you have to prove you're 18 for long arm ammo and 21 I think for hand gun ammo. Usually emailing a scan of your drivers license will work.

I've never heard of any special restrictions for "standard" ammo?

Which state is the seller from? Ask for the exact form number and if the search does not come up with what he says it is - he's full of BS.

Ammunition cartridges are ORM-D and require no different "forms" other than different kind of shipping method - same as shipping spraypaint cans for example... Unless, of course, his State or even local ordinances forbid shipping ammo - however, it's rather rare and only in some of the more prohibitive states... I've heard of places that you can't ship ammo to, but special license to ship ammo - haven't heard that one yet? Even if ORM-D is the case - he can go to any local shipping store and ship it out with enough of all the necessary forms, licenses and other papers to wipe ass for years to come...

I have looked at gunbroker.com. Is it usually pretty reliable? Same protections as ebay? Or somewhat similar to them. And can you usually get fairly decent deals with them?

I've bought 2 guns off private sellers on gun broker without any problems and have friends that have used it with similar results. So I can't complain.

It's very similar to ebay, just dedicated to firearms and accoutrements. I've only ever made one purchase there, but everything went swimmingly.

I'd keep the pressure up and let the admins over there know if you can't get a satisfactory answer. I'm also on ar15.com, and they bust bad buyers and sellers in the forums. It can be pretty amusing to read if you aren't the victim.

Didn't the 5.7mm have special restrictions placed on it because of armor penetration ability? I just remember them not allowed to be sold in the US and then i see them being sold.

Also, how do you like the FN Five-seveN, or did you get a P-90 variant?

from what i have read on the ammo, SS195 doesnt have the same ballistic capability as the SS190. mainly that thought just stemmed from an anti-gun group, but with no proof.

i havent been able to play with it yet, i am stuck at Fort Bliss and i had to have it sent to my parents because i am not 21 and could not legally purchase the five-seven.
