French President Nicolas Sarkozy says he has not ruled out boycotting the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in China over the situation in Tibet.

Kinda weird... either boycott them in full or do not boycott them... but don't do a 50/50 solution on such an important issue.

I would really be surprised if France DID boycott the Olympics...that could really hurt their sales to China.

Sarko is taking about boycotting the OPENING CEREMONY only :) he is not that crazy... but that is why I call it useless 50/50 decision/threat...

But even that would still be a slap and might that China might not care for.

Im not saying that it is right or wrong...I just would be surprised.

"We don't like China's policies, but not enough to compete for medals."

It'll maybe be talked about during the ceremony broadcast, but will be quickly forgotten.

What a hypocrisy!!! The last time he visited China they signed contract for selling and constructing nuclear plants and sh!t.Add to that that Total,Elf etc are still making business with Burma(a close ally of China).Sarko can't foul nobody.

7 years ago when they gave the olympics to China, China already occupied Tibet. The politicians should have thought about it before now it's too late to change there mind. That's plain hypocicy of politicians that try again to surf on people's emotion.

Typical politics... say you're going to do one thing to appease one side then do nothing at all!
