U.S. Soldiers Work with Baghdad Reps to Clean Graffiti

BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. Soldiers are working with the Iraqi Civil Defense Corps, Iraqi police, local leaders and citizens to clean up graffiti on Baghdad streets.

Patrols have been asked to report how widespread the graffiti is, and then to work with the ICDC to paint over anti-Coalition messages. The teams are tasked with putting up posters to inform the citizens on how to report criminal activities such as vandalism.

They plan to paint entire walls in some neighborhoods, and will encourage the citizens to paint over graffiti on their own as well.

In addition, the teams plan to install street lamps and park benches.
