Anybody know who makes the uniforms with the kneepads built into them much like the Crye combat pants, but in different camos patterns ie DCU, MARPAT, I've even seen FBI guys wear solid green?

the ACU cut pants have a velcro knee pocket that will take a form knee pad inside. the knee pad has a NSN and a cage number. you have been using it in my training, it is actually pretty good item.
I got my off e-bay

This is like a plastic knee pad outside the pants though. I've seen a crap load of guys wearing them.

Crye makes the combat uniforms in a variety of patterns that are not available at all to the general public the way multicam is. CADPAT, ACUPAT, MARPAT, DCU (tri-color deserts), plain khaki...
The knee pads aren't permanently attached, but fit into an elastic pocket on the outside of the knee.

No one uses those pad pockets. They tear through the trousers way to fast. Easier and cheaper in the long run to just wear normal knee pads.

Interesting. I didn't know. I wonder why just multicam. Supposedly we should start getting some, but not very many. I wonder if I could purchase more.

Here's a picture of the knee pad arrangement in question, if anyone is wondering:
Pants
Knee Pads
The tan portion of the knee pad sticks out through a hole in the pants, while the rest of the pad is covered by the pants fabric.

Ah, I know what you're talking about. This is probably why I assumed they were made by someone else. They also velcro at the bottom like aviator pants.

I've seen some really wanna be hardcore Chocos with a bit to much time on their hands make some interesting designs of improvised knee pads...
Basically they made a small slit in the knee area of the issued cam pants (where there are two layers) and inserted a cut to shape piece of the issued poof mat, and then re-sewed the hole. I guess it's kinda smart when you think about it actually... if you are prepared to sit down and fiddle with it. Beats the issued knee/elbow pads anyway that the AUS army get because they will NEVER slide down. The issued ones usually end up down around the ankles after a few minutes of patrolling. They stay up for about 2/5ths of f*** all during fire and movement... Either that or you can do them up ridiculously tight and cut off the circulation.
