Although the US president will arrive with a flying fortress and a convoy or arms like the Browning gun, the shield can be penetrated.

When the spokesperson of the White House National Security Gordon Johndroe officially confirmed US President George W. Bush was to arrive to Croatia, it was clear to everyone that the place of his arrival will be trapped in time for several days and the US secret services will dictate the justice an borders of freedom for Croatian citizens.
No slackers for Bush

After loads of ungrounded talk about Bush possibly by-passing Zagreb and about his visit to Dubrovnik, which was denied the day Bush said he was sorry he will not be able to see the delights of the Adriatic coast, and when we called the Zagreb Westin Hotel the nice lady at the reception told us all hotel rooms were booked until April 5, therefore it was pretty sure to say that Bush would still land in Zagreb. Afterwards, a date of his arrival was set, April 4 and first “shipments” of security-intelligence units came arriving with trans-Atlantic flights, preparing the groundwork for the great US boss.
The Croatian police stepped up and toured housing estates that are along the most probable and most realistic route according to which Bush`s convoy will be travelling through Zagreb. Not even foreign citizens in Croatia could avoid the police because Interior Ministry members toured Zagreb and the surrounding area, registering all foreigners, even those who had left Croatia a year ago.
BUSH`S ARRIVAL IN NUMBERS
- 800 secrete service agents
- 60 Hunter military aeroplanes
- approximately 40 armoured vehicles in the president`s convoy
- 10 million kuna from the Croatian state budget?
- 40 Zagreb taxi drivers for secret service
President Bush to arrive with 60 Hunter military aeroplanes?
After participating at the Bucharest NATO summit and visiting Ukraine, Air Force One, as aeroplanes that transport the US president are officially called, will most probably land at Zagreb Pleso airport. But, before Bush`s flying limousine arrives, Croatian air space, as the rumour is, will be overflown by Hunter planes, which were granted permission to fly several days ago. Somewhat frightening data states that allegedly 60 of these military interceptors will escort the US president as Air Force One arrives to Croatia.
Bush`s convoy to separate at the US Embassy?
When Bush waves at the welcoming committee upon exiting the aeroplane, he will get on his indestructible limousine and head towards his first stop, the Westin Hotel, in a 40-vehicle convoy. The presidential convoy will be accompanied by heavy security and according to initial reports, 20 vehicles with ambassadors, White House staff, reporters and Bush`s guests will single out from the convoy and head for the US Embassy on Thomas Jefferson Street, nearby Velika Mlaka, while the rest of the convoy will continue along the Velikogoricka Street with US President Bush.
Problems start in Dugave neighbourhood
At this section of Bush`s route, it is hard to imagine anyone attempting to threaten the security of the US president, above all because he is passing through an area without housing objects, while the railway line and surrounding woods will surely be thoroughly cleaned. Individuals can only get a chance once the convoy takes a turn to the Savezna Republika Njemacka Street, i.e. in Dugave and Travno neighbourhoods, where numerous housing buildings open up the space to fiery opponents of US imperialism to take matters into their hands. Although all highest officials visiting Zagreb have passed along this street, even the Pope mobile has left its tracks on that astoturf, there is a chance that Bush`s convoy moves at a parallel direction, i.e. Veceslav Holjevac Avenue, as it is not an urban area. Still, according to testimonies of people who live near the Savezna Republike Njemacke Street, with police ringing at their doors, warning them that their windows must be shut this weekend, and according to the frequency of Waste Management vehicles which have the task to polish the road for the US president, the convoy is most likely to take that direction, heading to Vukovarska Street.
Bombs are out of the question, but snipers…
When American friends, regardless of what street they take, get to the Vukovarska Street, this is when things get serious. Skyscrapers, high and vast buildings with multiple entrances and exit points drastically lower the security level of Bush`s convoy. After a tragedy in Savska Street when a by-passer was killed by a hand grenade explosion as he was rummaging through the trash, and seeing how all sewage pits have been sterilised and wielded ****, the possibility of Bush being threatened by an explosive device is not likely. A greater threat are tops of the Vjesnik and Zagrepcanka skyscrapers, suitable for setting up high calibre riffles. Only trained professionals can perform this task, but with the right weapon to do the deed. When we speak of the Vjesnik skyscraper, the most suitable weapon which is efficient concerning the distance of Bush`s convoy, is surely a sniper like the Barrett M107 with a 50 mm calibre. This Us-produced mobile top has efficient range of nearly 2 km, made to stop lighter armoured vehicles and it was included in the top 10 best inventions against terrorism in 2005, of course in the USA.
Disguised taxi driver might threaten Bush
On the other hand, considering the Zagrepcanka skyscraper, best firearms would be the Browing XM312 machine gun with a 50, calibre, but it takes two people at least for this operation. This Browing machine gun with a 19-kilo frame shoots 260 bullets per minute and is especially effecting against mobile targets on the ground. Due to the vicinity of the skyscraper in relation to Bush`s convoy, it is an ideal choice. If this part of the route goes perfectly, the presidential convoy will enter the very Zagreb city centre, where only some of the 40 selected Zagreb taxi drivers can harm him, who will be driving Bush`s agents. This will only be possible if they professionally disguise themselves and manage to infiltrate the security ranks.
Bush`s speech at St Marko Square
The area surrounding the Westin Hotel and of course the entire hotel itself will surely be “combed” several hundred times so that it is absolutely safe for the American president, but after Bush rests, he will head out from the hotel towards St. Marko Square, where he will address the public, according to some information, after administering the NATO propaganda at the Croatian cabinet and a bit of chit-chat. If the speech really does take place, there will be 20 agents and 10 police officers at the Square, and anyone suspicious will “disappear” in an instant. Only a howitzer blow will be possible from the nearby Sljeme mountain during this part of Bush`s tour. Other attempts would be futile.
Helicopter escape from the Westin Hotel

It is presumed Bush will visit the office of Croatian President Stjepan Mesic at Zagreb`s Pantovcak, but the possibility of Mesic joining him at the cabinet is not out of the question either. Once he gets some sleep an enjoys himself, the US president will head toward Pleso airport, but will he be heading back in the convoy or soar high in the air in the presidential Marine One helicopter from a site at the Westin Hotel, it is still not certain. No matter which way he chooses, the helicopter or the convoy, it is possible to threaten Bush`s security from the roof of the Croatian National University Library and this time, Russian-manufactured RPG-29 bazooka is the weapon of choice, mostly used to destroy tanks. If Bush avoids this hot spot, he will happily return to the White House in his presidential Boeing and the Croatian police will be able to focus on capturing one-armed runaway general Ivan Korade in the Zagorje region.
