I think the Rhodesian dog tags were based off the British WW2 dog tags
They had on them in this order:
Number
Branch
Religion
Surname.
I think the red fiber disc could not burn and the green fiber disc could not rot.
If this info is wrong correct please.

"We were given letter punch stamps and a hammer and told what to put on them. In my intake – and I don’t know if others were different – we were told to put our initials and last name followed by military number on one side and our blood type on the reverse. We had to do this on each tag. This was all we had on them, nothing about our religion."

The above is the quoted from a ex-Rhodesian army fellow whose website i found Googling (http://www.alangroberts.com/rhod-01.htm)
