Bush, Brown push tough approach on Iran
WASHINGTON - U.S. President Bush says it's "naive" to argue that Iran couldn't transfer nuclear enrichment knowledge from any energy development to atomic bomb production.
Bush rejects arguments from some that Iran's nuclear activities are intended only for a civilian energy program. Speaking with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown after meetings today at the White House, Bush called Tehran "untrustworthy."
Bush says even if Iran's claims are true, he believes it's "naive" to assume they couldn't transfer that knowledge to a military program.
Brown says he makes no apology for urging new sanctions on Iran if it does not cooperate with international demands to halt uranium enrichment.
