Until some years ago the Norwegian standard fatigues were OD (M/85 to you Norwegians who remember), these have since been replaced by camouflage uniforms with a different design (M/98 etc...). There's also the issued heavy-duty working pants, or field-pants as they're called, which is used when it's colder or rainy outside which is still OD, while the corresponding jacket to these are standard Norwegian camouflage.

Shouldn't this be in the gear section?

Interesting thing about the IDF and OD, it seems to work in their environment from the pics I've seen.

When I first saw the IDF uniforms, I thought the same thing...jeez, they can't afford camo? But after a while I saw their uniform does the job, and allows quick identification, which is about all you need.
There are a number of LEO's that use the OD uniform, as well as the US OPFOR both at JRTC and NTC...I was looking for pics of them, but it's been slim pickings.
And yea, this ought to be moved to gear.

An Army buddy of mine, who served in the 2/75 Rangers back in the late 80’s, told me how he thought the O.D. fatigues were superior to the Army woodland BDU’s. In his opinion the O.D. fatigues were harder to see at long distance because the woodland camo would blur into a dark mass, where as the O.D. uniforms would remain light and blend into the background.
I had doubts about the new “universal” Army camo until I saw it blended very well into a temperate, forest environment.

Also note that the IDF uses cammo too
Alot of the reason why the IDF has the prevalent olive green is because the enemy tends to have varieties of cammo

Samething with CADPAT and our old OD uniform. Sure OD doesn't look "cool" but it works well.

Cambodia: OD BDU currently used by Cambodian National Police Force as field combat uniform.
China: Type 01 OD Combat & Training Uniform is still used by some regional units of China Armed Police Force. It could be seen at Tibet riots in recent time.
Japan: Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and Japan Air Self-Defense Force --- "Class B Armed Dress" and "Utility Dress" are still in OD color.
Vietnam: Vietnamese People's Army
Colombia: standard combat uniform of Colombian National Police.
(US: US DEA agents stationed in Colombia use TRU OD uniform when conducting joint anti-narcotics jungle operations with Colombian National Police)

The Royal Thai Border Police still wear a OD uniform styled, in part, on early pattern US Army OD sateens, complete with old 50's/60's style (white on black) nametapes and (gold on black) organization tapes over the pockets. The uniform, normally heavily starched and tightly tailored, is mostly worn as garrison/work/duty dress these days with an OD BDU or 'slant pocket' jungle fatigue style uniform worn in the field.
The Royal Thai Army, up 'til about 10 years ago wore a field/work uniform that was based directly on the last pattern(pre BDU) US Amy OD's, complete with OD baseball cap.Like the Border Police fatigues it was worn heavily starched and tailored.
