Well, this is my first real photo's post, so don't judge me too fast! These are pics of a gathering of WW2 re-enacters, mostly vehicle owners. They participate in lots of events, including activities in Bastogne, Malmédy, Normandy, ... . I have a meeting soon with one of the founders (neighbours) who supposedly has quite some weapons, and I'll see if I can get some pics of that online. Also note I was under some time constraint, so only a handfull of pics, most of their material was on a parade at the time, the stuff in these pics was all there was.

Pretty much their billboard; a V1 sitting on a mast.

I only took 1 pic of these, there were ofcourse loads more, in various shapes and sizes.

My favorite weapon, the M1 Garand. Quite understandably, most of the people had their weapons stored away somewhere safe, and I had only 30 minutes there so...

A nicely tucked away BAR

Rotating ring on a deuce and a half, carrying (propably?) a .30 MG

Another .30 MG

Un-identified gun, looks like some sort of a bazooka or PIAT, but that would be wierd. Couldn't find the owner. Anybody?

Say hello to my little friend... A .50 mounted, like looking into a railwaytunnel

A cute little tank, don't know it either? DUKW maybe?

The big guns...

Towed quad .50 AAA

Another nice vehicle, on tracks I might add! If you buy the boat, the vehicle underneath is for free! Shipping not included.

Some old helmets, propably used for target practise, + the paint looks quite bright to me, but you never know.

That's all folks!

I'm a WW2 re-enactor as well. I am with the 29th Infantry Division based in Virginia and Maryland. We are a 150 man strong unit, probably the biggest in the entire country.

Thanks

These guys are from Belgium,

www.pattondrivers.be is their site, you can slick on "Foto's" and click on some links there.

I must admit when I got there today, the vehicles got a bit older, the beerbellies a bit bigger but they are still a great bunch of people!

The "cute little tank" is an M8 greyhound scout car. It has a 37mm cannon.

The rotating ring was usually for an M2 .50 caliber machine gun. It could have hald an M1917 .30 caliber machinegun though.

The gun on the back of the jeep that you can not identify is a recoiless rifle.

I am not sure if the American had them at the time of WWII. The German forces used them, but I am not sure of the American forces.

Nice historical pictures.

That's a V1 not V2.

The US fielded two recoilless rifles in the ETO in 1945. M18 (57mm) and the M20 (75mm). They were pretty rare, though...
