FBI busts "special interest" illegals

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - FBI agents on Wednesday busted 10 people they termed "special interest illegal aliens" for allegedly trying to use fraudulent documents to get New Mexico drivers licenses.
A Motor Vehicle Division employee alerted police several weeks ago about what the employee believed to be a fraudulent attempt to get a license, according to an FBI news release.
Albuquerque police called the FBI, which worked with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement to investigate the incident.
The investigation showed that several New Mexico residents had allegedly been fabricating proof of residence documents to allow people from out of the country to obtain authentic licenses.
The FBI said the New Mexico residents were themselves illegal immigrants.
While the FBI isn't saying which countries the 10 came from, the news release said "certain countries are associated with special national security concerns," and that using the term "special interest alien" depends on which a given person is from.
According to the news release, investigators are still working on the investigation, and believe that dozens of "special interest illegal aliens" may have obtained New Mexico licensees using fraudulent documents.

[Now, I wonder, just wonder which countries these are, and why they are withholding them from the general public. My best guess is that these guys are natives from Iceland, Greenland and Denmark. What say you?

LOL, “Special Interest”! When I saw the headline, I thought the FBI was busting members of a POLITICAL special interest group that were illegal aliens.
WTF? Are they from some country (Saudi Arabia) that is paying us not to be “embarrassed”?

On Monday morning, one of my probationers, who is in the US illegally to begin with, was arrested for possession of methamphetamines. This is his third felony SINCE he was placed on probation, for Robbery. Luckily, this time, they placed an ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) detainer on his ass, so he won't be getting out of jail anytime soon, to continue wreaking havoc on our community. However, during the little shyte's probation violation hearing yesterday, I couldn't believe my ears when I heard the judge express sympathy with the probationer because of his expected deportation to Mexico! The judge actually said that he hopes the probationer doesn't get deported. I had to bite my tongue.

Sounds like this "Judge" should get deported right along side the scumbag for being a terrorist facilitator.

Yeah, it annoys the hell out of me, too. Especially when I have to deal with these pieces o' shyte. But, I get a 3% pay differential because I speak Spanish, and without all the illegals, there'd be very few of them to justify my bonus!!!!
There are two arguments that people like the judge I mentioned don't advocate for deporting them:
1. Financial considerations: They don't think the money spent on deporting them back to Mexico is worth it, given that they'll likely come right back in a month or so, or even less.
2. Compassion: Because a lot of these people get women pregnant and have kids (instant US citizens!), people cry about "breaking familes apart".
But, if someone is not from Mexico, it usually takes a lot less to get deported. I've got two Ukrainians and until recently, a Russian on my caseload, and after multiple crimes, one of the Ukrainians is in the process of deportation, as is the Russian.

Nothing personal, Ordie. The children of people who crossed the border illegally didn't choose their situation, and they're not to blame for their predicament. I have cousins who are half-Mexican-American on both sides of my family, and they are decent, hard-working members of the community, and some are veterans.
My argument is that when someone enters a country, ANY country illegally, they know what they are doing, and any resulting complications they or their families endure as a result are thier responsibility alone.

The difficulty is that the children are US citizens, so they get to stay. And should the child be deprived of its mother. It's a difficult issue.

Wait until we get the 14th Amendment cleared up and the problem will go away, the 14th Amendment was intended to grant citizenship to and protect the civil liberties of recently freed slaves.
It was not intended to create "anchor" babies that enable immigrants to side step the immigration process.

You are correct on the intent but the language of the 14th Amendment is problematic.
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside.
Not a lot of wiggle room in those words. Born in the US = citizen.
I agree that it might not be the best way to make them citizens but those words are so broad that its really the only result. If we let judges interpret the 14th any other way we are giving in to activism and result-orientation. And we all know 2 sheds would explode if that happened. Well except maybe not in this situation since its a result he would like. But I digress.

If we want to change the result that would be my humble suggestion. To change the interpretation now becasue we don't like the result would be a bad idea. But I agree its a problem and the way to solve it would be to amend.

There is a list of "Special Interest" countries, which when it comes to Immigration or Customs related matters, are scrutinized a bit more heavily. For obvious reasons.

If this is the case, do I get "grandfather rights" to retain my citizenship? Would I lose my veteran's benefits?
Where do I go if my citizenship rights goes away?
Would it create another level of bureaucracy and law enforcement resources?

I don't think anyone should lose rights nor should it be retroactive, hell I'd end up getting the boot as well if that was the case.
I think the constitution should be amended to fix this problem for the future, not the present.
