This is not to start some sort of a sexist thread.
Based on what I see and my work experience, the majority of girls that use computers usually use it to girly chit chat and/or for writing their papers or downloading ****....very few of them anyway  . Other than that, the box is useless to them. Why is that? It's not like men are over expose to the availability and the usefulness of computers.
Any reason or do most women just dislike using the computer for anything other the the reasons I listed?

I actually enjoy learning about them. Most of what I do know is self taught as evidenced by countless crashes and reloading of all my software. I'm often sought out by friends and family to figure out what is wrong with their machines and fix them... but alas I am really a novice... just not as bad as most.

Oh. I was one of the first people in my corporate office years ago to start using Windows/MS Office regularly. It baffled me that others were not as interrested in it. My ex who was also a manger at the office used to say "why should I learn it... that's what secretaries are for".
ooo the used to steam me up. heehee

the amount of women that don't do basic upkeep for their computers is amazing....not one of my female friend's or ex's defrag their hardrive (or even know that u can do it or what defrag is), know what kind of anti virus software they have (or if they even have any), know about or use anti spyware/adware software. Yet they will forever download crappy content that f***s up their machine and causes their comps to crash.
Of course getting asked to come to the house of a good looking woman to fix a basic problem isn't all bad..... p-)

I'm MOUS certified for MS Office and just need a Train the Trainer course to be Master certified. I write my HTML from scratch most of the time, though I have been teaching myself Dream Weaver and plan to learn Flash next. I use Paint Shop Pro (poor mans Photoshop). I installed memory and a harddrive myself (I was so nervous about taking the PC apart). I earn money part time online making graphics, simple databases, presentations, etc.
And sometimes I edit my registry! But don't tell my ex cause he said to never do that.

Women should stick to what they excel at:
1. Making thine royal roast dinner
2. Using thy booty in a manner preferred by thy evangelical overlord (me)
Most importantly (though hardly ever implemented) - Keeping thy noise orifice firmly closed unless requested for marital duties.

In my opinion, I think girls prefer more actual social interaction, i.e. more "face to face" talk. Also, maybe it has something to do with the old "boys are better at math and science and machinery" thing. I have no idea. I just like getting on the internet, checking email, and im'ing people. This is my first ever message board. I probably wouldn't be on it as much if school didn't keep me from having a life. What in the world did nerdy teenage boys do before the internet?? Oh yeah, Dungeons and Dragons in their parents' basement. I still hate computers, though. I don't understand how they think.

Ah, I feel it. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the computer, the modem, everywhere, yes. Even between your ass and the couch.

I used to do all my work on the computer (editing/proofreading, writing web copy, *very* minor programming tasks, etc.). But I don't do that job anymore... now I pretty much just use it to meet/keep in touch with people.
And yes, this time, Jack is actually right. Haha. A fairly large majority (not all) of women use computers primarily for communication purposes.
