1st ID Soldiers Destroy Car Bomb
TIKRIT, Iraq - 1st Infantry Division Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment destroyed a car bomb near Samarra around 9:45 a.m. May 28.
The Soldiers found three 155mm rounds in the rear seat with batteries and a radio receiver hooked to the rounds.

TIKRIT, Iraq - 1st Infantry Division Soldiers returned fire and wounded an attacker who had fired a rocket-propelled grenade at them around 11 p.m. May 28.
The attacker was transported to a Coalition medical facility and will be detained for questioning.

Iraqi Civil Defense Corps Finds Explosive Device
TIKRIT, Iraq - Iraqi Civil Defense Corps soldiers turned in an improvised explosive device to members of 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment around 5 p.m. May 28.
The ICDC soldiers found the device, which consisted of four 152-artillery rounds, and two 250-pound bombs, near Hawija. Task Force Danger Soldiers secured the ordnance for destruction.

Iraqi Citizen Information Leads Soldiers to Cache
TIKRIT, Iraq - Acting on information from an Iraqi citizen, Task Force Danger Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 252nd Armor Regiment found a cache near Kifri around 9 a.m. May 28.
The cache consisted of a machine gun, one 60mm mortar tube, 800 7.62mm rounds, 2,100 12.7mm rounds, 12 rocket-propelled grenades, and 23 60mm mortar rounds.
The cache was moved to a military holding area for later destruction.
