I'm an Independent with socially converative leanings...did my time in the Marines and i strongly belive in self determination meaning i strongly oppose nearly all goverment handouts (the purpose of the goverment is to provide common defense, negotiate with foreign powers, maintain the infustructuer and provide some judical/moral guidance for the economy). On that note im not opposed to vote for a democrat if i think he or she will be good for the nation. Now that i have set up my context in this election i have really come to hate the Democratic party far more then ever not becuase of who they submitted but becuase of the rhetoric comming out of them to force the super delegates to vote who is best for the party instead of the country. They have basicly said to vote with who will win instead voting with your conciouns... mainly in regards to the superdelgates and to just go with Obama instead of sitting down and thinking out your choice (Howard Dean who i never really had an issue with is really comming off like a creep)
Does anyone else share this complaint?
I'm not really sure I agree 100% with your assessment of what the Dems are doing right now, but I think it is certain that many many people are put off by what's going on in the Democratic primary.
To me, what is happening is a result of both Hillary and Obama being incapable of real separation from the other. And so the fight lingers with neither side really feeling secure enough to leave the other alone. Obama is worried he can still lose so he campaigns again Hillary. Hillary thinks she has a chance to win, so she campaigns against Obama. And depending on your internal worldview either position is plausible. And the result of that is negative campaigning which is never fun.
I really hope that NC and IN will change that. Hillary's chances are so small that I think sh'e negotiating right now to bow out. If that happens I think you'll see Obama's tune change and he'll get back to his positive message. For me anyway, that change is welcome.
Only time will tell. But with all that in mind you are almost certainly not the only one unhappy with the Dems right now.

I admit that theres chaos in the dem party at this time, but to me it shows determination, which is exactly what I want to see. I like BHO, and Hillary. I think that these last few years really placed most of americans in the same boat as me. I have never seen that type of determination come out of GWB, during his whole presidency. Fact is is one will be a nominee, and who ever fights the hardest deserves it, wether it be him or her.

I don't blame their party for trying to manipulate the super delegates to elect the one they think is the most electable. That's really the name of the game here. What sense does it make to back somebody who will lose and gain them nothing? It makes more sense to cut their losses and back the one who has the best chance. Sometimes one has to do something that's counter-intuitive in order to get the desired results.
And that friends, is why Hilliary is the candidate for me, the candidate for you, the candidate for anybody who cherishes this great land called America. Only Hillary has the experience, demeanor and the snappy pants suits required for the demands of the Oval Office.

Don't be a slave to any political party. That's the way I am. I vote for who I believe can do a better job then the other horses in the race. That's just me. I hate it when people say Republicans are bad and Democrats are bad. They are two sides of the same coin. Both have good and bad policies.

A month or two ago I read an editorial about Hillary and Obama's fight in the Boston Globe (it was in other newspapers as well) by Mario Cuomo. It had a great little comment where he indicated how the superdelegates are there to ensure that the party picks the candidate that has the best chance of winning the election, even if the primary results indicate a different candidate should win.
Funny, I would have thought the party that says it looks out for the common man and the poor and the downtrodden etc etc would be the one most interested in the will of the voters...

Our domestic welfare system is small compared to the billions and billions we give out annually in free "foreign aid". That's the handout buddy.

If Shocker1 can magically change from being MP.Net's official Ron Paul supporter into a self-proclaimed Obama supporter, then I don't see why 2sheds cant pull off something similar. p-)

Shhh. Come closer. Closer! Down here under the table. Ok now don't tell anybody, but Hillary will be really easy to beat in the general election. So I ...oh crap here comes somebody! Yeah so I dropped that gosh darned paperclip and God only knows where it wound up, thanks for helping me look for it. Ok he's gone. Anyway, she'll be like shootin' thick-ankled fish in a barrel. That's why I lie like a bastard and tell everybody that she's great. OK let's go. So uh, yeah, it's that experience and know-how that sets her apart from that Osama guy who's never done anything.

Yes and no…
I like your political philosophy and feel much the same but turn my back on the political mechanics of the nation finding all factions really pretty much the same in their desire to forcibly take more from the individual to gift entitlements to their constituents all the while growing the Federal government into something that perpetuates this increased corruption.
To me the government is encroaching on and or exceeding many of the corrupt principles practiced by the British government back during the 18th century that caused this nation to revolt and form the US in the first place. And, to some extent things are beginning to resemble the very same slavery issue that that tore the nation apart during the civil war.
My opinion of the election is colored pretty severely. I no longer care about the parties, having worked with both in the past, now feeling that they do not care to represent people like me (those who desire a much smaller, less costly, less meddling government), therefore, I will do my utmost to succeed despite them and spread the word without debasing my morality in the hopes the people will wake up to reverse there ultimately destructive course of growing the federal Frankenstein’s monster.
As for the Dem’s big act…
If you want to see some real sparks fly, hope for the race to be razor close up until the convention and enjoy the battle that will brew over the Florida and Michigan delegates that fell by the wayside due to technicalities. Depending on how hard Clinton pushes for them, we could see yet another election determined in the courts.
The Hillary/Obama circus is just that. They are entertaining shills willing to debase themselves, do anything imaginable to become the con who really rakes in the big bucks.
2Sheds, you had me worrying there a moment.
