Moin,
just a quick question.
When you look at M3 based Multiple Gun Motor Carriage(M16) you can see that the .50 MGs are fed from quite large Ammo Boxes(do not know who many rounds they can hold).
Where those big Ammo Boxes considered for the .50 MG on Strykers ICV and RV?
Or are they impractical to deploy on Strykers?
I get the feeling that 100( if they really just hold 100 rounds) rounds could be expanded in a short time and reloading the gun under fire could be damn dangerous, so wouldnt it be more practical to have more rounds ready on?

I don't know how much does it hold, but the ammo can on the Stryker is not the standard 100rd can(and it's larger)

The ammo box used on the Stryker is a bit large than 100 rounds, however if you cant find the info on google I doubt it should be discussed.

We used to use MK19 ammo cans on our humvees for 50 cal ammo. Maybe that is what it is?

I picked up one of the cans a while back. It looks to be half the height of the MK19 can. Which is a 20mm can as well.... I wonder if they decide on the ammo calibre of a weapon because it's ammo can fit in existing containers.

I believe the can on a Stryker ICV will hold 200 rnds of 50 cal or 32 rnds of mk-19.
