This is something I certainly didnt expect - if its true, of course. Time magazine is usually fairly careful, though, isn't it?

sorry, I've just seen the date of the article - quite "old", although I'd not seen it before.

Can you blame them?

the airlines are always delayed...
the staff are always rude or snide...
the wait in the terminals sucks...
and the food is terrible...

That will teach them to just hand out little bags of peanuts and snacks on the flights..we want meals and free booze

Those B-727 were in horrible shape when Iraqi Airways was operating. The aircraft were in a state of such disrepair and were strip for parts so thorughly they wouldn't fly again anyway. This way they are easier to dispose of :roll: . If you look at the pictures when the airport was first taken most of the aircraft didn't have engines and some didn't even have wings.
