Well fellas, I'm off on a big white bird to Germany tomorrow. I'm doing a 2 week student exchange deal but another week of touring.
My itinerary (sp? lol) goes as follows:
Land in Frankfurt June 2nd at 7:30, then we'll take a bus to Rothenburg to spend the night.
First we travel south to Munich and Dachau, then through Innsbruck, Austria.
We'll then go through Vaduz, Liechtenstein and Lucerne, Switzerland.
Well head north back to Frankfurt, where my school group will take a train to our German hometown, where we'll spend the next 2 weeks with real live Germans (lol). We'll take some day trips too.
I'll tell yall all about it when I get back! Maybe i'll see some cool troops and guns to take pictures of and I will give you the truth about German girls: do they shave? or do they not shave their armpits?
Stay tuned!
Aufwiedersehen!

Hope you'll have a lot of fun over here! Where exactly will you spent most of your time?
If you got enough time, we Germans could send you some adresses where you could go, for example Infantry school in Hammelburg (1.5 hours away from Frankfurt) etc.

Well, I got back Thursday at 12:30 am. Kinda weird leaving Frankfurt at 5:15, then flying 8 hours to D.C. and it stays light outside the whole way (we landing in DC at 7 somethin').
Well, the flight from ATL to DC was ok, but when I was about to board the Frankfurt flight, I couldn't find my passport! My friends pitched in to help find it but it never happened. So I had to stay in DC the night while the airline looked for my passport. Turns out that it went to Kansas City and Denver (both places that I'VE never even been to). I got it returned the same night at 11:30, but I had to wait to the next day to go to Frankfurt. I spent the night in DC and even toured around the next day, seeing the new WWII monument. It's kinda surreal to read about those landmarks and see pictures of them and then see them in real life.
So I got a flight to Frankfurt and when I landed, walked across to the train station and got a 3 hour ICE train to Munich where I would meet up with my group.
So I missed Rothenburg :(. But my group told me it was crap :) lol
The home town we stayed in was Villigen-Schwennigen, south western Germany.
Yeah, the keyboards in Europe are f*cked up. The y's and z's are switched, which is easy to get used to, but then there was about 15 zillion different symbols on the number keys and I couldn't for the life of my find a ' lol. Well, i'm not bragging (lol) and I am telling the truth (I swear!). I'd be lying if I said the German girls didn't like American boys. At one party they wanted to play strip poker, but I wasn't going to let myself have enough alcohol to do it. The ones I talked to did shave lol.
BTW. Any conversations to do with George Bush and the war were incited by the Germans themselves. They made it a point to us that they didn't like him. I personally didn't meet a single one that liked Bush but i'm sure there are some. The only Military I really saw were at train stations in cammies. Although in Lucerne (holy **** that place is beautiful!) I saw a Swiss soldier with what I think was a G36 or a Sig 556 (It was a dark area and I do not know the standard infantry rifle of the Swiss)
Well, i'm back, thanks for the good wishes.
