My brother was in Sharem last week.
Check your bags ten tiems before you pass the boarder, you don't want them to find anything that may look suspicious.
The security in Eilat is fine, like in all parts of Israel. We don't have soldiers walking in the streets or anything like that, everything here looks perfectly normal (except of the guards at the entrance of malls, resturants and public places).

I was kinda long time ago (5 month ago) there , so i really don't remember . But i think that the Aircraft company that making a flights from Europe (Arkia) is also involved in the hotel booking , so i think you can check the prize of hotel on the Arkia site . I was staying there in not so fancy hotel near the damn Airport , so it was pretty good for me (300 $ for a room, long weekend during summer "busy" times ) . There are defenetly good parties there , like Excite , many Israeli celebrities goes there ,and the selection of babes is just excellent .
Hookers are the best looking in the world there :) , aprox 300 shekels . Beer is expensive next to European prises (let's say 300ml of beer -i think it translates as quarter glasses will cost you 5+ $) . There are many border patrol soldiers in the town , but there is no reason to fear at all , this is just because it's border town .

You can setup a tent on the beach (there are some free beaches when you get closer to the boarder).
The appartments aren't expensive, you can get one for 200NIS for a weekend or something like that (it depends how long you want to stay). A hotel will cost you six times more.
Food is expensive if you compare the prices to US prices but for Europe's prices it's not so bad (33NIS for chicken sticks in Macdonald or 36NIS for a burger).
I don't know how much water cost (I only drinks coke, 1.10$ for a cann or in supermarkets few shekels for a bottle), but drink only mineral water because a large percent of the tap water in Eilat comes from sea water desalimination plant and I think that they are not so good for humans health.
P.S. The best time to come is in July-August because then we have many parties and free pestivals (Love parade, Goldstar pestival, Heineken beer city, Coca Cola Music pestival, Love city, play&music, Hip Hop in the park and some more (every year it changes)).

First class is nice, but it's not worth eight thousand bucks.

Probably cause you weren't flying first class, where trophy wives are included in the ticket cost ;)
Coach does suck though for international travel. I'm 5'6", 140 lbs, and coach seats are too small for ME. How the feck does that work?

6800 dollars for a plane ticket! :cantbeli:
For that money they better offer some quality prostitutes.
