Does anyone have any experience with them? They are on sale at cabelas for $250.00 off of MSRP. Introductory Discount.
They have the trapezoidal sites and I was wondering how hard it is to make the adjustment to them?
The geometry is a bit different on the grip, and was wondering about that adjustment as well. When I was checking it out, I kept coming up to high in the front (or low in the back).
Thanks,
Alby

A friend brought his out when we were shooting this weekend and although I didn't fire it, I really liked the way it felt in my hand. The sight is very strange at first glance, but lining it up was really easy. I can't speak on the quality of it. Maybe someone who owns one can chime in.

You mean the Steyr M (http://www.steyrarms.com/index.php?id=207)? If so, this isn't really a new gun. Tried it once a few years back when it was first introdouced. Liked the sights a lot, not so much the rest. It's not a bad pistol, just does not sit right in my hand.

Id stay away if your hand is medium or bigger, They are great ergonomicly on small hands, they have contenually dropped the msrp for the last 2 years on it. Felt great in my small hand but a medim hand beside mine didnt agree. Is it price range holding you back from something better?? Or are you just Hard because you seen a semi-auto new for 250$.?

It's a decent polymer frame pistol.

Damn it, I wish I could get one for this price.
I saw it at my range, second hand, for 4000 NIS (about 1300$)
And it could be a good alternative to my glock.

I have small hands, just didnt know if it was worth a damn.
Regarding my hardness:
1)I was born hard.
2)I don't like your ****** ineundo and have reported your post.
3)It was hella cheap, so yes I thought it was a good deal so started doing research on it.
Did you actually get to shoot it?

I had a go with a Steyr M9, and I can't say I really liked the weird angle of the grip.

Dude, for $250 give it a try. If you don't like it, sell it for $220......One good thing about hand guns is that they retain most of their value.

For that money you could buy a new H&K USP in 9mm.
Give the Glock to the Lady...:)

H&K USP?
Beerrkk, I tried it, and hated it, I know, I may be weird this way
And the Lady won't even go at the range right now, too "busy" with her exams and thesis, what a girlie p-).
Maybe I'll just switch to the 17 c, it is pretty nice.

Good enough pistol, and the price seems right. The grip angle was bad, and it just didn't fit my paw properly. I haven't shot the 9x19, but the .40 was snappier than I would have liked. I remember it as being quite light, and the .40 definitely imparted quite a bit of muzzle flip. The trigger was okay, and the funky trapezoidal sights were actually pretty darn good. For the price, do it, man, but I'd save up an extra $100 and get a CZ-75. Your mileage, will of course, vary.

I'm assuming we're referring to the Steyr M-a, here. I had a Steyr M357 a few years back. Sights took some getting used to. I would assume they can be adjusted normally with a drift punch, although mine shot closer to point of aim than I could. good gun, though, overall. can't recall ever having a malfunction of any kind, in about 3,000 rds. The M-a's grip is slightly different - I like it. The M-a (this is the main difference) also has a Picatinny Rail instead of the oddball proprietary rail the M-series had.
