Israel transfers $74M in withheld tax revenue to Palestinian authority

RAMALLAH, West Bank - Israel says it has transferred more than $70 million in delayed tax revenue to the Palestinian authority.

Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad says Israeli officials have told him the money was sent Saturday and is expected it to come through by Tuesday.

Israel had previously agreed to transfer the tax revenue - about $74 million - at the end of last month.

It will go toward the salaries of about 150,000 Palestinian civil servants who have not received their May wages.

And yet it still astonishes me that Israel has to always justify its actions and is seen as the aggressor - I've never heard of another country that supplies these kinds of hostile neighbours with anything.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasnt it Hamas that Israel gave aid to in combating the PLO back when it was 'moderate'?

This is why I'll never believe peace can be made with the Palestinians

I do not understand this at all. Why on earth would Israel give anything to their mortal enemies? I know, Camp David,Jimmah Cahtah...B.J. Clinton and all that....treaties that never work....the PA and Hamas always are attacking in one way or another, via non-uniformed surrogates they never seem to control, or even attempt to control...in fact they openly praise the attacks. Israel has failed miserably to keep the proper accounting of treaty violations from the other side. How long did Israel go withstanding rocket attacks and bomb vest attacks...snipers, etc. and never once responded...just complained to an unresponsive UN...and a very lethargic U.S. We keep sending "humanitarian" aid in to these monsters and they keep right on murdering and slaughtering.
