I have always wondered about the answers to these questions and now I am going to get the answers (I hope)
1. Did Nelson ever get his hearing back?
2. Know they guy that Captain Steele went over to at the end of the movie, he said hed be ok in a couple of days. It looked like the doctir shook his head like, "No, hes not gonna mke it." Si did he live or no?
3. Did hoot ever make it back alive after he went out at the end.
Post some other BHD FAQs here (if there even are any)
My last BHD post for the night. I promise. I just needed these questions answered.

1. Yes.
2. Ruiz died before he could even get back to base (Nc I need your backing on this)
3. Hoot is a made up character, based on many different real life Delta operators.

If I recall correctly, there was a Hoot in the book (Norm Hooten or something?) but Hoot in the movie was Norm Gibson and was amalgamated from several characters in the book.

There is a Hooten but it obviously isn't Hoot.

You just don't get it, do you? 'Hoot' is not a real person. He never was a real person. He's a mix of several different real people who were involved in the operation. Clear?

Yeah, the movie is only "based" on the book, and the book is compiled from alot of stories from men who were on the ground. So the movie is hardly reliable research material.
Read the book the whole way though, then read it again. Just incase you missed anything.

Sanderson was also a fictitious character, based supposedly on Macejunas(sp?) and Paul Howe.
