Free my ass, you'll be paying for it.
Umm, people like you always worried about your ass, whatīs the problem with it? the mine is good, btw, I donīt think about it except when I sit in the WC 15 minutes daily, thatīs all. Excuse me you all by this answer, but itīs just true, and American Patriot commentary donīt need longer answer. AmericanPatriot, my friend, I live in a capitalist country at least since I was born. Public medicine is compatible with private medicine. I pay a cheap private medicine insurence I pay monthly(44 euros) just because I donīt want to spend a whole morning in a public medical center in the case I have a simple headache and because public medicine doesnīt pay me expensive treatments with the dentist, but in the case Iīve a cancer, and if I live many more years than you itīs very posible Iīll have it, then public medicine is the best remedy for me over the private medicine, not doubts about it: Iīll have the best doctors and the best medicines, and if thereīs any american lab which is testing a new drug or a new medical technic that it isnīt yet delivered in Spain, my country will send me to an USA hospital for being cared with that new remedy, an if youīre an american citizen, unless youīre millionaire youīll probably spend a whole fortune for having the same medicines in your own country. Itīs a really sad perspective for you. I hope youīve better luck thant that. Regards, Loco.

Uhmm... no thanks...

Swedish PM to wait in line for hip operation
******* (http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L25101714.htm)

STOCKHOLM, May 25 (*******) - Even the prime minister has to wait in line in equality-conscious Sweden.

Goran Persson needs a hip replacement operation. But in a country famed for its cradle-to-grave welfare state and where politicians see themselves as ordinary folk, the leader of the ruling Social Democratic party won't go private.

"I'm counting that this will be managed through public healthcare. I would be very surprised if not," Persson told reporters on Tuesday.

Swedes are likely to applaud their leader, whose party pledges "people before markets" in its campaign poster for next month's European Parliament elections.

"Right now I'm in quite a lot of pain, but that's not the fault of the health system," Persson told reporters reluctantly after initially saying his health was a private matter.

Longer waiting lists and increasing charges for state healthcare have become a source of complaint in recent years among a population that pays some of the world's highest taxes.

Persson said the 1-1/2 hour operation would be carried out before Christmas.
I guess that's partially right. Persson is in a lot of pain because his government supports the socialist health system instead of a free market. If the market were truly free, he'd have no wait for surgery as long as he were willing to pay.

The truth of the matter is, you don't have to be a millionaire to get decent healthcare here in america. Even if you cant afford healthcare, there are plenty of govt programs that can take care of any medical bills free of charge (ie: medicare and medicaid programs). Even so, hospitals can't refuse service to anyone in need. Thats what the social service workers are there for set up by the hospitals. We pay $50 a month for full family healthcare under my wife's workplace. That covers ANYTHING we need (from flu shots, MRI scans, chemo for you cancer to major surgery), WHENEVER (no waiting, emergency room costs, $50). Prescription costs us $10, co-pay doctor's visits $5. This also includes free dental care.

why is it everyone beefs with airsofters who wear unit patches, and not these guys? The difference is Airsofters do it for the coolness, or thinking they look cool.

Reenactors do it out of respect for the veterans, and try to reenact battles as vividly as possible in order to give the audience a slight idea of what the veterans really went through. Ask any reenactor and I garuntee you 95% of them will say, because I want to honor the veterans, or something pretty damn close to that.

I agree. These guys piss me off. In 50 years, if some guy is prancing around in a pair of BDUs pertending to be me or someone I know, I may feel inclined to beat his ass. Maybe instead of pretending to be the heroes of yesterday they should join the ranks of the heroes of today. Someone's got an attitude.

I'm not the one telling everyone to go piss off. I simply pointed out a contradiction on your part.

Incorrect. Read the posts, someone stated their opinion, I concurred, Vance referred to me in a derogatory manner, and you ran to his aid. I have yet to bash anothers point of view. That said, I really don't care what you think or how you perceive things.

P.S. I do belive one forum member does not constitute "everyone", though I could be wrong.

Edit: This is getting out of hand, I'm poppin' smoke.

Uhmm... no thanks...

Then, at last both in USA as in Europe you have universal health care, paid of course with the taxes, then, what itīs the problem? Both USA and Europe are "socialists"? Sometimes, when I read some americans like American Patriot talking of "socialism" it remembers me the old propaganda of Francoīs time in Spain, when it seemed as if communists were red devils with a long tail and socialism or communist were the same that socialdemocracy(similar in europe to democrats of USA) What I mean is that at least in Spain, I donīt know the case of Sweden, is that you can enjoy a good public medical care in general terms, and of course THE BEST MEDICAL CARE in serious illnes, but at the same time you can have private medicine if you can pay it here. In Spain medical care is a matter of every region, I live in Euskadi, Basque country, and here I tell you the medical service is very good. A doctor can works simultaneously in private and public centers, in fact our regional government has a deal with some private hospitals which care of patients when the public hospitals are full, and thereīs a good fluency between public and private centers. Here public medicine doesnīt pay you a full arrangement of your teeth of the type of actors or politicians, they only do extractions and so, thatīs why I pay a private medical insurance and because if I have a headache I want the doctor just now! at home, I donīt want to spend two hours in a public center. But if I need a new heart or Iīve a cancer, I know public centers are the best of the best. In the case of the swedish minister, he obviously hansīt a wound that threatens his life and he probably wants to do public relations with that with electors: "Look at me how good I am, I have to wait the same as you in a public hospital WHEN I COULD PAY JUST NOW A SURGEON IN THAT EXPENSIVE AND PRIVATE HOSPITAL YOU ALL KNOW".
