Full US ARMY training version is included with X-Box version by entering a cheatcode, so you get both "civilian" and "military" version of the game. Since it is an official army training tool - I thought it had everything to do in the "general" section...
Can't belive that code was leaked 2 days after the game release - we were hoping for months... rofl

I can't say it personally, but since it's already leaked - I can point you towards it...

I saw it played by a friend last night . The tutorial is about 45 minutes long . Lots of stuff to learn , buttons and all . Environments look good , graphics look good , weapons are well made but the sound of them is a joke . They just don't sound like weapons at all . The closest thing they sound like is - and I'm not joking at all - air soft guns , muffled at that .
The only reason I can think they took this rout is to hear the surrounding noises and sound effects so you can hear the enemy better and most of all the commands and Intel coming through your radio set , and the voice of your team leaders . Although the gun shots are no doubt the worst that's hit the industry yet I really don't care too much , I'm in it for the tactics and game play .
And thus that brings me to my next gripe . The tactics are cool but extremely repetitive . Cover fire with Alpha team so Bravo can run to another cover spot . Cover fire Bravo team so Alpha can line up a shot .
Over and over again . The only thing that really changes is the position of enemies and the types of weapons they use weather it be AK-47's or mounted machineguns . There is no run and gun here . Everything is done from cover . It all about finding cover , shooting , cover shooting , and finding more cover to once again shoot from . Next level same thing , shoot to cover your team members and wait till they make it to cover . Then have them shoot to cover you as you run to cover . I think they should rename the game to "shoot and cover , cover to shoot " . Overall though it's not a bad game and I've only gone through the training level and one or two levels after that . Hopefully there will be more intense action and variables . JS out .

Retail version is more for the common videogamer, "hidden" army is more realistic - try that too, it's more of "run-and-gun-and-get-creamed"
The only reason I'm bringing this up - I don't want anybody to miss out on the hidden feature, that's all

But the Army version has a completly different interface, not a HUD and such flashy stuff, but is instead based on sound and hearing. Its not just a different difficultylevel but more realistic as a whole.

Well - then a MOD should move the topic if it's deemed to be Off-Topic... I thought that this would belong in the general discussion for the forementioned reasons...
Thought I bring up the fact that FSW has in reality 2 games in it, original and unaltered army version being the hidden feature. Me working entire year on "civilian" version - just thought I pimp it for once on the site I roam when I don't do any work :bash: . Heck, quite a bit of refference came off this site and message boards.
Two versions are very different and I'd be too biased telling you what they are, however "civilian" version is a definite eye candy. (gives himself a firm open hand slap on the behind)

i beat the whole game first day it was out. It was fun, but a little repetative, until you get to use the ranger snipers, that was quite a highlight. Mission variety is quite good as well, and so are the graphics. Its just awsome to see the guys shooting and running to cover, and wasting MG's with M203's.
The army vesrion offers a lot more variety. It tones down the graphics, and sound quality, and it gives you a less, fluid feel than the original, but i guess its more realistic that way. It lets you play 6 different missions, and you get to modify the settings, like, OpFor numbers, Civilians, OpFor aggressiveness, wind direction, and a lot of other stuff. Unlike the retail version, in the Army version you will never play the same mission twice, What works in 1 mission may completely screw you over in another mission because 1 of your guys forgot to cover a sector. The soldiers in the Army version respond to threats much more quickly, and they bring down OpFors, just as fast as you can spot them.. unlike the retail version. The soldiers in the retail versionalso do a much better, and more realistic job of hitting enemies behind cover.
oh, BTW the code is HA2P1PY9TUR5TLE ( I got it memorised, its not too hard.) Happy hunting.

I just rented this game......It kicks ass. The graphics are amazing as well. To me it seems as if you are really there, it is an intense game and very difficult but at the same time it's a blast.
The only thing that I would change in the game would be to give the player the ability to shoot instead of shooting by just selecting an area in which to shoot and telling them to do it.
Overall thought, this is an amazing game and I can see why this is a training aid for our soldiers. It is soooooo realistic it's crazy. I love playing it and am going to have to buy this game
