Looks like the future of ground warfare, however, this is an early prototype. I doubt it's ready for Iraq any time soon.
A useful feature would be to engage targets autonomously that are a threat without hitting friendlies - not sure how this can be done.
Very interesting.

That's supposed to replace the M2 and Mk19 isn't it?
No offense, but I'd keep the Ma Duece. Effective, proven design that hasn't had a problem in 90 years. If it aint broke...don't fix it.

If you're refering to the crew of the .50 cal....that's true about any crew served weapon. But almost all the M2s are now mounted on vehicles which could offer protection if the soldier ducked down.
