Well, I have been extremely busy recently now that I'm working as a cardiology intern. The past few days have been some of the most rewarding days of my life as I'm working with the residents and fellows. The professionalism, integrity, and intelligence of these guys is incredible. Doing physical examinations and interviews with patients is such an incredible feeling: these people put their well-being and confidence in you to help them feel better. The level of knowledge required is astounding, as you need to know of every single disease and disorder and detail of just one part of the body. The different techniques in identifying problems are incredible. The methods of treatment are incredible. This is going to be incredible.
I have so much to see and I am only beginning to see. :)

Like everyone else, I thought you got broadband or something!
That's awesome Seoul...these people are VERY fortunate to have someone be so passionate about their work; they're in good hands. And of course, it must be wonderful to actually look forward to your job, and to know all the hard work you've put forth has paid off. Congratulations Seoul, and keep us updated on how things are going. :D

Thank you, guys, for your great responses. They were very encouraging.
(And I'm an intern. I'll be a resident in a few years, don't you worry. :) It's truly an honor for me to be able to be in such a profession.)
@RussianAmerican: residency really isn't bad at all. The residents I work with are very professional and enthusiastic and hard-working. The hours aren't as bad as they were just a few years ago (120 hour work weeks to 80 hour work weeks).

You’re not gonna believe this but I have had two open heart surgeries. One when I was only 2 weeks old in 1964. The story of how I got into the military with these problems is a long one, but I digress.
I have the ultimate respect for anyone in the field of cardiology and would like to thank you for taking on the challenge of being the next generation of heart doctors. If you haven’t seen the HBO movie “something the Lord made”, watch it. It’s about early research done on infant heart surgery and it is wonderful. Once again, thanks for what you do.
p.s. We had a renowned New York heart surgeon as our doc in Afgh. He closed his practice and came with us, now that’s sacrifice. I watched him crack a guys chest on an LZ to try and save him, open chest heart massage, the works. Unfortunately his injuries were too severe, but it was a valiant effort.

Thank you for your stories, Shrek. I've heard about physicians near my hometown who have closed their practices and went to Iraq and Afghanistan to help the civilians over there as much as they could. I never had the idea that a doctor would be courageous enough to perform open-heart surgery on an LZ. :|
I haven't seen "Something the Lord made." I went to the HBO website and saw that it was played May 30th. I don't have HBO either. :( I'll try to find a recording of it.
Thanks, Shrek.
Stay Safe.

Well done Seoul.... hope it turns out to be everything you are expecting. And I really, sincerely, hope you are still so enthusiastic in 10 years from now - its a special privilege to save a human life.... your life will be so much happier if you still consider it a privilege years down the road - its not all about the cash, the car and the trophy wife is it? :)
P.S. this is not a sarcastic post - I truly mean what I said above. I've had my life saved by a doctor, and I've seen that same doctor in action being so blase, and pissed off at his work.
