That's good. I know kathawk and she doesn't need anyone else coming on to her. Here's a hint: half of twenty-six...

Apropos females. Some years ago i have that Delta Force allowed some women to enter (It was said five) to use them for special missions. Has anyone any info about that?

Interesting...
Well since a last year German Armed Forces have been totally opened for women. They could even become Kampfschwimmer or KSK (which also have a platoon for scouting out foreign areas before other forces are committed using undercover methods... perhaps they copied Delta if it really exists lol) if they pass the (albeit unaltered) selection.
We will see what happens...
Thanks for the info !!

woot Well, the reason I check this site is because my boyfriend is in the Army's 160th SOAR and is deployed right now. He was sent to South Korea in early December but was sent somewhere else almost a month ago. I haven't heard a word from him in almost three weeks. So I check this site out to look at the photos and read some of the interesting things all you guys have to say. And it sounds to me that a lot of you are quite impressed with his position.

well the last part wasn't such a great thing to hear... My man is a combat medic in the 160th. He is not a pilot or anything like that, but he certainly jumps (and fastropes) out of enough of those helicopters.

Doesn't matter if your a pilot, flight engineer, crew chief, door gunner, medic, a Night Stalker is a Night Stalker.

The thing about females in CAG is disinfo or 'scuttlebutt' as I believe the Americans say. There are/were females in ISA though and as ISA/CG/CW/RC/CS/RS/TV/GF etc etc (whatever name they use this week) recon and do site evals a lot for CAG, this is probably where the misconception came from.

Yeah fair call but remember that most of these spec ops books you get these days rely on previous works for their content. Very few authors conduct first hand research. The books I'd basically trust I could count on one hand.

Yeah, but you have to remember truth is stranger than fiction. Alot of cultures believe women are second class citizens and might let thier gaurd down around them. Our goverment has done a lot stranger things than teach women to shoot extremely well (I know thier is a lot more to it than that but I think you get my drift.)

In fact i had heard it as well... I just thought someone would knew what became of them. I am intersted to hear about a female in Spec ops action because their is this discussion about wether they can do it or not ( and should be excluded from combat units of any kind or not ) And although a women no can technically become KSK or something i have never heard about one who did. So I thought a female Delta in action would settle the topic (one way or the other).
That women are underestimated... its a fact i think. Think for Yourself: if You see a young women 5 feet tall or so... do you feel threatened? No you don't. Women are harmless (all your instincts say that) They are weak no danger and there is this military looking guy... he is dangerous. (And now the girl draws a 0.22 calibre pistol out of your handbag and puts one in your eye... the end).
Its funny in our age of small and deadly firearms... but women ARE understimated in this !

...well, my boyfriend told me that if i wanted to know what it is that his unit does... read Black Hawk Down... and it did... before the movie came out. The book moved me completely and made me take his position in the military much more seriously.
I got an email from him today... it is hard surviving on one email a week from a guy who is not especially gifted in verbalising his emotions... this is so hard.
...i know that what he is doing now is so much more than anyone else I know in this world is doing for the future of our children...
....sigh...
