I in the process of making 5 AR-15 for the family, I have a question a few questions, can a 5.56 lower receiver have a 6.8mm upper and use the 6.8 mags in the 5.56 lower?
second question if yes, which brand of lowers are good, and which to say hell way from.

answered my own questions yes the 6.8 and 5.56 have the same lowers, and con work with either upper.
What brand lowers should I steer clear from ? are stag arms good?

Rock River lowers are the best lower recievers out there. However I haven't had chance the test out Patriot Ordnace Factory lowers yet, might be worth a shot p-)

just stay away from Olympic... all other will be fine
I've heard that RRA has tight tolerances, is it true? same mags may not drop free

Consider using a LMT, Mega, Colt, Noveske, POF, Double Star or Stag. Any 223/556 will serve as a platform for the 6.8mm upper. Look at Ko-tonics;

They have a good rep and know their stuff. For ammo consider;

Thanks, I have heard of Olympic being crap, but I want to be sure, I have been looking a Stag Arms, and not knowing much about them, they look good, and their receivers are the cheapest. I also be eye ballinng DSArms too for there AR recievers. I worked out that a reciever for $140 + lower part from bushmasters $69 + CAA butt stock with tube is about $99, that is $300. Then RRA with a CAR butstock complete built lower is $300, with green pistol and butt stock $310. Dam so many choices. I might go for the DSarms they sell a complete POF upper for $999, just need to swap out the handguards 4 a 4 rail at $69 a piece, so I would be looking at $1400 for a complete gas piston rifle, DSarms lower with POF/DSarms upper bushmasters parts. when building 5 the price get really exspensive.
ThenI have the cost of duracoat, one will be pink, one will stay black the the other 3 will be a camo.

I've got a RRA lower, and I love it. Tight tolerance and great quality. I've used it with DPMS upper with no problems, and it's working like a champ with my new Stag Arms upper.

Don't drink the Rock River Kool-Aid. CMT/Stag makes the lowers for RRA, just buy a Stag, they work just fine, or buy the next one I'm getting.

No its not ture, cause my home made Stage M4 clone is tighter then my friends RRA. There is no movment on my Stag, his is as loose as a $20 crack whore.

Don't they sell a bolt that can tighten those up, I also saw a device bushmaster sells that sit in the well before the buffer that reduce loose movement. Any how I looking at the DSarms receiver, not the one pictured the cheaper one, that does not have that fancy design.

The key to an AR-15 is not taking it apart. Do not take it apart when transporting it, use a bag, not a crappy box.
