Wapen Locatie Radars (WLR) operationeel:

These camps are everywhere man, i saw many of them last weekend. And the vehicles just kept comming.
So I am ;) I will leave home to Normandy in a few hours (departure time : 5:30am local :( ) to meet a group of 23 reenactors "from" the 82nd Airborne. They are already on site for 3 days about 5 miles from St Mère Eglise. They planned to "replay" the exact events for about 8 hours during the night of Saturday p-) I am not a reenactor or an airsofter myself but I can tell you those guys worked on the project for about 2 years. They are really serious and accurate about their hobby -three of them had a role in "SPR" and BOB"- they are young and fit, some of them are in the French military and police, some don't but they have the deepest respect for real veterans.

Huh? The stg44? As in the German assault rifle from WW2? I know it was a good weapon and the precurser for the AK47 etc, but are there really that many of them out there and do they really pose a threat to the coalition?

i just thought of something funny; remember early in the campaign when US forces kept finding millions of US dollars in cash from that bank raid that Uday and Qasay did, if they used that to buy the arms off the people, it would be a perfect way of redistributing the wealth to the poor, saving the US tax payer millions, and removing weapons from the streets!

Damn, i should be a politician!

Ok , i have a little question , it's actually for Fresh forum :) ...

I am not shure which model is that . M240G , M240E1 , or something else ? Can someone ID , if it's possible ? As i understand M240G is marines standart , but the forward grip is confusing ...

The Marines use the M240G. That grip may have just been added on to make handling a bit easier and safer. The M240B has a heat shield like that but that extends over the top as well.

Turkey's State Minister Kursad Tuzmen, in charge of foreign trade and customs, looks at the seized missile at the port of Ambarli in Istanbul, Turkey, Thursday, June 3, 2004. Turkish customs authorities in Istanbul seized a radio-controlled missile and launcher as well as other weapons from a ship that was headed for Egypt from Ukraine. The weapons, which also included a number of rockets and warheads, were discovered in two containers after customs officials searched the ship that had docked at the port of Ambarli, some 35 kilometers (20 miles) from the city, Tuzmen told reporters.

NAJAF, IRAQ: A fighter loyal to radical Shiite Muslim cleric Moqtada Sadr, squats with his rifle 03 June 2004, as renewed fighting erupted in the holy city of Najaf, 120 kms south Baghdad, between the fighters and US troops. Explosions shook the area near the vast cemetery known as the Valley of Peace, in the city where fierce clashes have frequently pitted US troops against the Mehdi Army. Gunfire and blasts were heard after two US tanks rolled into the area, just two days after the governor of Najaf announced a 72-hour bi-lateral truce had been reached. Under the terms of the deal, US troops were to halt patrols and withdraw to five bases in Najaf -- including the governor's and police headquarters.

By gosh, I know some FLN used the famous german nazi era 7.92mm first ever assault rifle, but Irakis, they should be advised, the Sturmgewehr 44 is worth a lot more as a collector, even more as a finctionning weapon (lol).
More seriously, the price seems to be a little high in a country where the average income is still of 500 bucks a year.
