This is a shame I rather liked the man, from what was written about him he seemed like a steady hand. :(

Yowza. I wasn't expecting that. But I think it's the right thing to do. After all we all know how solid the intelligence was saying Iraq had WMDs .

He's got guts to resign.

you're painting a picture like this was a sudden decision. He's been wanting out for a long time but stayed on after 911.

He was a good man, and a great patriot. Who knows how this could possibly degrade the direction and focus of the agency.

Anyone got any suggestions as to who may be next in line?

Just the first to fall so Bush can get reelected, Bush was going into Iraq if there was evidence of WMDs or not.

I dont think anyone can really comment without knowing why he resigned.

My guess is he was probably under alot of pressure and stressed out...after the abu gharib thing and now the chalabi-iran thing.

Could also be health related. hes known to have heart trouble.

OR maybe he just got tired of the job like Ari Fleisher did last year...

either way, i think a change in leadership couldnt hurt...though we could have done fine with tenet still in that role.

I think before the election we will probably see some more changes in leadership. Personally im not to fond of **** Cheney, and i wouldnt mind seeing Colin powell have his job. But would Cheney being the VP keep me from voting for Bush? Absolutely Not.

Kerry and his flip flops keep me away from even thinking about voting for him. One day hes for the war, the next day hes against it. One day he likes the guys he served with in nam, the next day they are brutal rapists. One day he supports gay marriages (yuck) the next day he opposes them.

I would have more respect for the guy if we would just make up his mind and stick with it.

Tenet was a tool...

Bring in Bob Baer as DCI.(Remember him...He was arrested for trying to knock off Saddam after GW1).

They should bring in a hardcore right-wing Neo-conservative so they can control the intelligence community too, muahaha..

True, very true.

He was a decent man who didn't have the strength to stand up to his political masters. John Scarlett any one?
