British Forces in Iraq Field an Up-Armored Bulldog
New armor kits have been fitted to the newly modernized British FV-430 Mk3 Bulldog Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) based at Basra, Iraq. In the recent months, the modified APC (http://www.defense-update.com/products/f/FV432M.htm) went through user trials in the UK and the Middle East which confirmed their reliability and endurance.
http://www.defense-update.com/images/Bulldogs.jpg
In the recent months, 50 APCs received a new engine and transmission which introduced better performance, much improved turning capability (Bulldog can now turn around within its own length) and improving more comfortable driving, resulting in less driver fatigue. The new add-on armor provides improved protection against a wide range of threats, bringing it up to the same level of the FV-510 Warrior. Other improvements include air conditioning. The armor package, developed by RAFAEL was first introduced in September 2005 at the DSEi exhibition (http://www.defense-update.com/events/2005/summary/DSEi-05.htm) in London. It uses the latest-generation insensitive reactive armor package (http://www.defense-update.com/features/du-1-04/reactive-armor.htm) on the front and sides, providing protection against a variety of anti-tank weapons, including the widely deployed RPG-7 rocket propelled grenade launcher (http://www.defense-update.com/features/du-1-04/rpg-threat.htm). In addition, the new appliqué armor (http://www.defense-update.com/features/du-1-04/feature-armor-protection.htm) provides protection against kinetic energy attack, high-speed artillery and roadside bomb fragments.
Initial deliveries of the new Bulldogs went to British Army units located at Basra. Over the next six months, more deliveries will be made to operations in Iraq as well as Afghanistan. The MOD plans to process up to 500 vehicles with these modifications.

Defense Ministry, SDF to ramp up air defenses for summit.
F-15 fighter jets will patrol the skies over the Group of Eight summit talks beginning Monday in Toyakocho, Hokkaido, The Yomiuri Shimbun has learned.
The Combat Air Patrol, or CAP, is extremely rare outside SDF exercises. In addition to using the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) and high-performance radar of Aegis-equipped destroyers, the ministry and SDF plan to ensure the highest possible air security during the summit.

Well they are special forces so it is understandable why they would probably want them to have the best weapons. Also, they probably do not have a large number of people in special forces so they can afford a small number of very good weapons (Tavor) as opposed to a large number of OK weapons (AK-47).

Merits vs. flaws aside, I think a lot of it may have to do with perceived image. The US Army uses it, so it's deemed 'more professional looking' in the minds of others, especially those who were unaware of the debate.

Sure Caucasian is someone from European origin in American, but i mean the Caucasian from the Caucasus Mountains! And since alll of u are Amerikan here (far as i see) i m not suprised.
Get it, Caucasian is someone from Caucasus Mountains (Georgians, Azerbaijanis, Chechens etc...) and not Europeans.
BTW, i m not gonna discuss how is our country and what we are in this thread. Have a nice day.

Yes, not European but Asian. I'm an American as I'm from North America even though I'm from Canada.
P.S. I'm stopping now, I promise, sorry to all :)

Did u read my posts? I said that we are Caucasian not Asian. ANd not that Caucasian in America wich is someone from European origin, but Caucasian from Caucasus Mountains. I didn't get offended, but we are far from Asian thing. Just like ME, u can't really call them Asian, same with Caucasus region.
