Are there a general shift of firearms training in the army nowdays from the traditional 200 m ****e position shooting to close range "point method aiming" fire and movement excercises.
Know the Long range recon people have done a lot of this since the late 80's, though looking at the size, headgear and composition of the patrol, these guys seem to belong to a "quack-quack branch" unit.
No disrespect for the arty-jaegers though, with all that gear they haul around.
We were pretty envious of their specially purchased anatomic "arty-jaeger pack", as we still had to hump around with 45 - 50+ loads in the standard "Ludvik pack" in my days.
Guess the "arty jaegers" also use the standard recon frame-pack these days?
