Beheadings, martial law, kidnappings: The Taliban is making its presence felt at the gates of Peshawar. The Pakistani army is trying to fight back, but is doing so only half-heartedly against a committed enemy.

The situation changed overnight in Peshawar. The villas in the posh suburb of Hayatabad, hidden behind acacias, palms and oleander bushes, are now directly on the front line. The Pakistani security forces have declared war on the Muslim fundamentalists who are said to have taken up positions in the immediate vicinity.

That is just mentally deranged.


The death toll among the Taliban is reported to be high. But clashes with Pakistani troops aren't the reason. Since taking refuge in the valleys and mountains of the tribal areas, the Taliban have been fighting among themselves.

Pashtun blood feuds, got to love them.

I am against Pakistan's so called peace deal with the Taliban there. It's just making them stronger there and helping them with their cross-border raids into Afghanistan.

the deals are just to re-organise, re-arm and borrow time for all this. its nothing more than that!

pashtun tribals are knows for making deals with the higest bidders, thats how the warlords work in pashtun tribal areas.

its been happening since ages and yanks just started dealing with them, they will learn the truth soon!
