Iv always supported russia , especially since the break up of the soviet union. I always felt there weapons were givin a bad reputation by incompetent people who use them (mostly in the arab wars)

there fights agianst islamic militants in chechnya both in 1995 and 1999 were something i strongly supported because back then i knew that islamic militancy was on the rise with osama leading the way, and i hated that western countries did not do enough to help russia.. hell militants outwardly in britain in the 90s were collecting money with the aim of doing jihad in russia.

but with russias attitude towards saddamn , towards every dictatorship in the middle east, to its complete and utter refusal to accept the threat posed by iran and its nuclear ambitions and now with this INEXCUSABLE veto of the zimbabwe sanction.. russia has turned into a scorn in the back of every freedom loving nation around the world. protecting ones interest is one thing, outwardly trying to undermine good and instead propping up evil every where in the world is another.

if russia does not stop its insane policies of supporting every filfth in the world, including the mullas in iran, it will come toa point that nuclear weapons might be fired in the middle east. and AS MUCH as i have been against the europe missle defense by the americans in poland and czeck i now support it 100 percent.

i have and will always love russian weapons as a counter to the americans because of there simple design and beauty (sukhios) but this foriegn policy of russia is downright dangerouse to the free world. using your veto power to PROTECT dictators mass murderers from sanctions int he UN is an abuse of power. and down right dangerouse that will eventually lead to wars down the line.

lbprnstars99, I hear what you are saying, but please learn to use the 'Shift' key to put capital letters at the start of each new sentence. It makes it easier to read.

First of all Mugabe is by no means a threat to world peace.

outwardly trying to undermine good and instead propping up evil every where in the world is another.

Guess what Russia is not alone.Hell Russia is not even #1 at that.

You have to look at the big picture boy. Whether there will be sanctions on Mugabe or not in the next month or so it is not so important.

US requires Russian support on one issue but totally ignores Russian opinion on another issue.

It is big world politics and no decision or action by Russia, China or US should be seen as isolated no strings attached decision.

*gasp* oh noes!
If Russia's behavior is so "dangerouse" (http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/4117/jarjarlw6.jpg) it should also be classified as part of the "axis of evil", don't you think? :)

Policies like this of protecting every mad man in the world is what eventually leads to wars.. who is stopping the sanctions agianst sudan ? in fact WHO IS selling weapons to sudan to commit the genocide?? and what about syria? .. and iran? .. where did hizbollah a KNOWN terrorist group get its weapons from? is zimbwabe a threat to the world? no probebly not.. is sudan? no.. other then committing genocide against there own people..

but russias policies will eventually lead to a situation where something really could happen.. meaning a situation where nuclear weapons might be used in the middle east.

this is not a anti russian thread just for the sake of it.. agian i have said i have supported russia in a time when nobody was defending russia ie war in chechnya in 1995.. im against natos expansion towards russia.. agianst any cis nations joining nato etc..

but i dont understand what if ANYTHING russia has to gain by vetoing sanctions agianst the leader of zimbabwe other then just to spite the west?
