New Hampshire says it will accept free oil from Chavez after all
By Norma Love, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

CONCORD, N.H. - Two years ago, New Hampshire refused to accept heating oil from Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, the pro-Castro U.S. critic who once called President Bush "the devil."

But, with fuel prices rising, well, free oil is free oil. With the state's blessing, New Hampshire residents will be receiving some of the fuel this winter. New Hampshire becomes the last state in the Northeast to embrace the offer.

Good for NH. Swallow your egos and move on. It sucks the NE still uses oil to heat their homes (when America has so much natural gas) but that is the reality.

Even if they would have to put a picture of Chavez on the living-room wall, its a still good deal.

I would take free oil too, regardless where it's from. I don't go to Citgo though....ever since Chavez nationalized the oil industry.

Yeah, I don't care where something comes from, if it's free I'll take it.

It's disgraceful if you ask me.

New Hampshire has some of the wealthiest citizens in the nation. They consistently rank near the top of education, medical and income surveys. In fact they're currently at the #1 position of statemaster's best-states-to-live index - are near the top of the "nest egg" index - are waaay down on the "social assistance" index...and are dead last on the % in poverty list.

To have all that wealth, and then accept charity from a scumbag who does his best to keep prices artificially high ...which hurts people who really are poor...well, it's beneath contempt in my book.

Plus, I live about 10 miles from their border and I don't think I can get any. F*ckers.
