This is a good one to.
Kurdish fighters carry rocket-propelled grenades as they reach the front line near the village of Badrik, south of the Kurdish-controlled town of Dohuk, on Wednesday. U.S. special operations troops and Kurdish "peshmerga" fighters seized a strategic hilltop near the major city of Mosul in northern Iraq on Wednesday.

Millhouse, I think that with every passing post you prove to be more of an idiot than I first thought you were...
The British Royal Marines are fine fighting outfit. How can you post pics of a fine military unit like the Royal Marines and then cheapen them by saying that ****? It seems that your not much a fan of ANY MILITRAY unless you are cutting them down some how. How are you not a fan ? You dont like the uniforms, thier cammo, thier weapons, the place that they are from or maybe you dont have the balls to do somehting like them.. Please Explain
And you have yet to answer any of my question(not that you have too) but if you want to validate anything you say please post a little about yourself.. I am not saying that your postion is wrong but I am bit confused on how you can post on MILITARYPHOTOS. NET and be against the military and the things we have to do. Please explain yourself. Are you a card carrying member of "students against war" or some other semi political areana. I can respect that even if I dont agree with it. According to your post seem to like looking at soldiers and them you pay them back by slamming thier very thing that made you like them in the first place.

The suppressed P90 was carried by Peruvian soldier in the rescue of hostages from the Japanese embassy in Lima (Peru) in 1997 not the Iranian in London (United Kingdom) in 1980 ;)

Why dont those british marines/paras whatever wear MICH helmets? Are they wearing body armor? If not, why not?
Helmets and CBA (combat body armour) are a force protection measure, usually decided at theatre level (1 starish). They restrict hearing, promote heat stress/injury and are perceived as intimidating by CivPop. Therefore although we wear them in war-fighting operations it is and has been our policy for years to remove them at the first opportunity. The force protection measures then dictate whether they are to be at hand (in bergans/daysacs), in vehicles or left at base. The same applies to respirators and other NBCD kit.
The above applies to conventional units. SF generally ditch them on war fighting ops and only wear them as a matter of course in the CT role.

Apparently, Israeli snipers are renowned for not being very good. I read an article from an official IDF site discussing this sissue. No cnuck, you read an opinion article that was written a few years ago by a website that is not the official website of the idf. Isayeret.com is a private website written by a few ex soldiers. While I find the website to be quite informative it is by no means always reliable. It is punctured by a lot of mistakes.
That article was written before this current war and even if it were true (which it is not), Israeli snipers have clearly proven themselves in combat to negate your last post.

So then why do you guys rely on an automated sniping machine? The one you hang from the crane? Israel is an amazing army, but i still have heard lots of bad things of the snipers, besides that article from isayaret.com

No Israel doesn’t rely on that; it is just another tool in its arsenal. Israeli snipers have been used a lot in the past three years and have been very effective. Not every time or mission does it require a human sniper. I don’t know if you know this cnuck, but armies use lots of tools at its disposal to kill the enemy. Besides snipers, it uses planes, tanks, and other sophisticated weapons systems etc.... are you getting my point?!?
As for you hearing lots of bad things besides that article (so I was right it was that article..lol), well firstly I doubt you have heard a lot of other things especially since I guessed exactly as to the one article of criticism that you were referring to and secondly as someone that has first hand experience in the idf, especially in recent times, I can categorically say that the idf is very efficient in sniping at the enemy and it has proven that on the battlefield. Actions truly speak louder then mere words and the idf has clearly proven it self.

I agree with you on principle and in fact I like that website. At the same time though it is important to realise that they do make mistakes and that it is only the opinion of a few people. In fact with particular regard to idf sniping, a lot of ex soldiers disagree with what they wrote. Just to add, like I wrote before, that article was written a couple of years ago and even in that article it said that the idf recognised the problem and was working on improving it, so even if that article were true at the time, the recent events have clearly proven that the idf worked out any problems that it might have had and that it has indeed a very capable sniping capability.

The article states the in the past the IDF snipers' quality was poor (the Israeli wars weren't suitable for snipers and based mainly on rapid armour movement and strong aireal support, only since Lebanon - there was a need neccesity to professional snipers) but since the 90's there was a great deal of improvement.
First, the M24 SWS was issued as the standart sniper rifle alone with Barret M82A1 as HTI rifle.
Secondly, the training level was improved.
Thirdly, a new platform of Desginated Marksman (KALA SAAR) was interdouced with great success, enhancing the infantry's firepower to medium-great distances.

Hmm, is this french central Europe or US woodland Camo?A mix I think - a helmet cover looks like French, but BDU is similar to US Woodland, maybe it's own Croatian pattern. I found a picture of Croatian special unit (below, with German G3 battle rifles) and those BDUs at both photos are quite similar to me.

http://www.henrikc.dk/camouflage/details.asp?autono=7
The current camouflage pattern used by the Croatian armed forces - based on the US Woodland. This particular uniform (see below) has the badges of "Alfa" - special police unit in Zagreb under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Croatian Army uses both US produced uniforms as well as locally produced ones - this is an example of a locally produced uniform. Camouflage pattern is very similar to the American woodland pattern. 4 colours: sand, green, brown and black

It also looks like a Heckler and Koch AD! Or an Oakley AD!
Come to think about it, perhaps HK, Oakley, Blackhawk, etc. should be paying Spec-Op operators and SWAT cops money for "advertising" their products. I mean ... look at pictures like these! They probably sell more stuff than their own advertisement. Afterall, won't all self-respecting spec-op operator want to wear the latest fashion and accessories?
