Some King or Queen or whatever, I don't really know my history, said that we had to drink tea, and we were all like: "Uh no dude, we don't like tea", but that would look really dumb on a flag, so instead some fat, turkey loving, printer guy wrote a political cartoon with a kick ass snake, because we all know Boston is filled with kick ass snakes. Then some Marine's from Philadelphia saw that commercial where the Marine kills the Dragon and were like, wow, totally, don't tread on me and put it on their band's drum set.

It is good for Americans that the king or queen or whatever didn't force coffee instead. This should teach him or her, or it to do the marketing research first.

Imagine if we didn't.

We would've had accessible health care, abolished slavery in the 1700's, firendly terms with the indians, and played cricket.

Would that be the revolution led by wealthy, large scale slave owners (who didn't want to pay back their loans) against a constitutional monarch?

I don't really want to pay my mortgage I think I'll start a revolution too.

If I´d been in GW´s PR-Team, I would have used a modern variant of this one for promoting the coalition of the willing... p-)

Bad idea really - seeing as very few people outside of the US actually know about it (I know I didn't till reading this thread), and seeing as people where going all crazy about unilateral US action, using a very American symbol might not have worked all that well. ;)

And our cars would (aside from being right hand drive) have electricals by Lucas. It's a wonder the Luftwaffe...

Here's the true dilemna. What if it had been a beer tax, not tea. Would they have thrown kegs of beer into the harbor?

Of course there were those small little things like

Taxation without Representation

Forcing us to buy only British Goods

Forcing us to use only British Bottoms to ship our Goods

Forcing us to ship our goods only to England

Quartering British Troops in our homes

Disarming the Ohio Valley colonists in the face of Indian depredations

Seizing our property and ourselves without do process of Law

Disbanding our own governing bodies and nullifying their laws and decrees

And about a hundred other insults.

:)

Actually you missed the main one and the only one the colonists really cared about which was not having a vote in parliament...in combination with then having to do all the other things you listed

It's just a good thing the French were around to help you. :)
