Libya to suspend fuel supplies to Switzerland

In retaliation for the arrest of Gaddafi’s son in Geneva

Libya on Thursday said it will halt fuel supplies to key oil client Switzerland, in the latest reprisal for last week’s brief detention in Geneva of Hannibal, a son of Libyan leader Moamer Gaddafi.

The supplies affected are those transported by ships operated by the Libyan national maritime transport company only, a statement by the company said.
Oil transported by commercial vessels would not be affected.

It doesn't say why his son was detained? Goes to show Gaddafi still has not matured by acting in such a way.

Wow!
He also gained notoriety for driving down the Champs Elysees at 140 kilometers per hour (87 mph) before being stopped by police.

What arrogance, sure Europe we respect you.

I guess Ghadafi has forgotten what happened the last time he messed with the west. Time to take out another family member.

Yeah, I guess Libyan tankers won't be pulling into Geneva anytime soon?

The Swiss will just buy it up from some distributor whether its Libyan oil or not.

The Swiss will just buy it up from some distributor whether its Libyan oil or not.You know what's funny ? I saw yesterday on TV a report that said the Ghadafi family personnaly owns a few hundred petrol stations in Switzerland ("Tamoil" brand). So basically they're just gonna close down their own source of revenue. + the fact that the swiss, who are surely aware of that, will probably shun them from now on.
Good move... rofl

I have much respect for the swiss right now. I hope they don't bend over to that bully SOB, unlike some other european countries (like mine) would do.

forex? i wouldn't count on some major moves, rather small fluctuations so if you have big cash you could prabably ern something on quick transations but then again you wouldn't ask here if you had the money...so stick EUR/USD...

Time to extract Oil from Albertas Shale if you ask me. We have the right planet but the wrong politicians.

PS Qhaddafi we can live without you and yours, wonder wether you and your kin can live in a place less beautiful and chic than Geneva. BYe bye.
