I use that headset in the Brad instead of the CVC, don't know what it's called though.

It's a headset made by Bose. We had them issued for our 1151 internal coms, also useable on like a harris/mbitr as you can see. Has a switch on it so you can hear outside noises.

Yup, what he said. And in my opinion, they're uncomfortable as all hell. We just went with two handmics, and two speakerboxes in my truck.

It looks similar. The way both strap on over the helmet, and also with the control box to switch between internal and whatever net you're on. But I can't tell you if they actually function similar as I've never used the headset you're talking about.

Sorry I don't. They weren't on our property book, so I never saw a listed price. Haha, I probably could have taken a few of them home since they weren't on the basic issued item list for the 1151 humvees either.
Also, holy crap I laughed my butt off when I went to the Bose website. The dummy head that the headset is on has the ACH cover on the helmet backwards. Wow, they couldn't have taken a quick 30 second search on google images or something to see how it's supposed to be worn?

I read somewhere that the ACH cover is supposedly reversible. Maybe you can use the flap thingie to cover your NVG mount?
PS: ANYTHING made by Bose is going to be ridiculously expensive, but very high quality. My buddy who was an amateur pilot (until things got too expensive) bought a set of civilian Bose noise-reducing headsets with microphone, and it cost him $1000. If you want military grade that'd probably jack the price up 2x or more.

While ive never delt with a CVC helmet/headset i do like the Bosse VIC headset when we use our MRAPS, have one rewired to play an ipod through, but when we use the 1151 we have the 2 handmike setup going on, pretty easy to communicate with gunner. one bad thing about being a gunner with those things on is major ****in sweating of the ears lol, not very easy to get a good sight picture either unless you push teh damn earpiece back.........man thats just too bad you cant find any though, have a **** ton laying around in a random toughbox in a tricon;)
