Yeah they are the ORC industries PCU level 5 jackets. It is a soft shell and very breathable. I have one and its good for mild weather and running around. If its really cold and you are just standing around you should either put on a heavier jacket or add a layer underneath. Not waterproof. Pockets on arms are handy for holding stuff like maps, sunglasses, etc. You can also put things in the pockets on the sides. Not good for keeping your hands warm. Either wear gloves or keep hands in pants pockets.

I think the PCU is what those rangers are wearing. ORC doesn't make the PCU anymore they make the MCU which looks pretty much the same as the PCU except the zippers match the rest of the jacket. The PCU had black zippers.

Last I heard, Rangers were using Eagle plate carriers with cumberbund in ranger green and eagle warrior belts. Underneath the plate carriers they use the Paca low visibility armor carrier with BALCS cut soft armor in it. That carrier is also in ranger green. I've only seen them use Rhodesian Recon vests in training and jumping.

They spray paint their helmets with Rustoleum 1917 khaki and I think they are using the norotos NVG mounts now.

Can someone ID his underwear? Boxers or briefs? Is Coyote or Foliage normally issued in country? What about tactical thongs?

Definitely tactical G-string. Less material, less drag than a man-thong. For those high speed, quick in-and-out missions. Although they are issued in cam I prefer to source my own in leopard-print.

Personally, I usually go with an animal print of something indigenous to the locale.

And if you run out of ammo, grab a forked stick and you can use your tactical thong as a slingshot.

I saw Bear Ghryls do it, so it must be true. Took out an elk.
