This little fellow, a Long-eared Hedgehog (Hemiechinus auritus), was spotted outside the 3rd Battalion, 401st Army Field Support Brigade, Caterpillar Equipment Refurbishment Office at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. In the second photo, the spine (which are actually keratin-stiffened hollow hairs)-covered creature moves away. The Long-eared Hedgehog is naturally parasite ****e and can carry diseases as bad as plague; in accordance with U.S. Central Command General Order Number 1, they, and other animals, should not be fed, handled or adopted as pets.

One of the shooters ,the one in the background, is probaly in training. The sailor sitting down is keeping track of the weight of each aircraft and relaying that info so the proper amount of "cat steam" is applied to the catapult.

well, do you really think this helps? taking into consideration all the attacks aimed specifically against the iraqi personnel (e.g. police stations), I think this is just to manifest their patriotism.

Ya' know I know it's been said many times..but I remember how the Iraqi army looked a few very short years ago. It was a rag tag bunch....But look at em' now!..Them fellas look more professional each and every day.
I tip my "cover" to the US Army for training them.

have you notice all the flags they carry one their vehicules, I guess they don't want to be shoot at by the insurgees.... dude you have it all backwards, just by displaying that flag they make themselves a bigger target then Coalition vehicles. it shows they are not afraid and they believe in their new nation. you can easily see change in the situation in Iraq by the number of homes and vehicles displaying the new Iraqi flag, it is a very brave thing to do and they do it because they believe in it.
well, do you really think this helps? taking into consideration all the attacks aimed specifically against the iraqi personnel (e.g. police stations), I think this is just to manifest their patriotism. exactly!

Actually, the fourth ship behind the sail boat is a Perry Class Frigate. Since this is in Hawaii, it is likely either the Crommelin (FFG-37) or my old command, Reuben James (FFG-57).
