Can anyone help me find some more information on this item.....

The white scrolls read 1. Faithful to the flag.
2. Our King & Country.
3. Defence. Not Defiance.
4. Be Prepared.
It measures 50 cms sq,and is in near perfect condition.
The only info I have is that it came from World War One.
Hope to get some history on this from you guys.

I figured this was military history, If not, my apologies.
