I am looking for any old pictures of La pallice, on the out skirts of La Rochelle France. Especially looking for any pictures of Jeumont Kaserne there from the 1950-1966 time frame. The Jeumomt camp was located next to the submarine den used by Germanys during WWll.
I was stationed there in the US Army in the 1960s, and lost the pictures I had in a fire. There was a large port there, and in Rochefort also on the south west coast, that we moved the cargo from up through France to Germany.
Hopefully someone on here was there between 1950-1966 also.

Good Find. That is my wed page. :) I have tons of pictures of La Rochelle, but nothing of Jeumont and Laleu Kaserne where I lived and worked in 1963. There is very little information, and virtually no pictures from after the War, till recent. All the old Army stuff is gone now, but hoping to find some pictures of either of these small kasernes (camps) between 1950-1980 time frame.

I am still looking for any pictures of Jeumont Kaserne, next to the Sub Den, from 1950-1970.

I live an hour away from la Rochelle, I see if I can dig up some pics.
La Pallice is now split between the commerce port, near the old sub pen, and the fishing port at Chef de Baie. I think the caserne Jeumont is probably where the Régiment du Train is stationed.
I think this book (http://www.livresdeguerre.net/forum/sujet.php?sujet=1125) would have all the pictures you need, I'll see what I can find.

Here is a satellite picture of the area, with the streets marked. I have many pictures of the Submarine area, the Torpedo Assembly buildings, the harbor area, but none of the buildings that the US Army used in the 1950-60s. They were located beteen Rue Alphonse De Saintonge, and the train tracks.

I am hoping that someone has some pictures from when they worked on the small camp.
