View Full Version : What is a Freemason?

Seriously. I have no idea.
Every town I've lived in has Masonic Temples. And the amount of conspiracy theories out there rivals Zionist conspiracy theories. But I have NO IDEA what a Freemason actually is. Is it a religious group? A college-fraternity-like-thing for adults?

Its a radical terrorist group that split from the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes.

secret society? maybe not (http://www.freemason.org/bhood/hjoin.htm)
i would compare it to a university fraternity for all men who believe in god
but for the record- it was the inspiration for the "stonecutters" simpsons episode

In the Stone Cutter episode, they had the symbols of Free Masons hanging in the temple (the 90-degree ruler and eye, i think).

There is a Masonic hall across the road from me and my friend's father is the boss of them here (don't know the technical term for their chapter leaders).

As I myself am in a secret society, I can understand their wanting privacy. The Freemasons are very old and their rituals should be respected. No, secret societies are not for cowards, losers or weirdos, and anyone who says otherwise is justing proving their immature ignorance. Anyone in a secret society (or even not in one) who gives away secrets for attention is a coward and a loser themselves, in my opinion. I can say this bc I'm almost twice as old as most of you armchair commandoes on this board.
Let them do their thing, you go and do yours.

Free Masons are nothing big. Mainly...NOW...just a group of business assciates. My great uncle was "Grand LIbrarian" of the local chapter and both my Grandfathers were fairly high up in the organization.
I am actually sad they never approaced me to join. :)
Now the group that scares me is the Scottish Rights...a splinter group from the Free Masons...
Oh, and cut, there is no catholic "version" of the Free Mason...they pretty much hate the Catholic Church...

There are a few catholic groups very similar to the Masons and there is one group the P9? who seem to very similar the Masonic Lodge, in the UK all long held animosity to the Church of Rome by the Masons has been dropped and Catholic members are admitted.

I had no idea what a Freeodmason or whatever was until this thread.
I know a couple of Freemasons and I've asked about them a few times. The general answer is that it's an excuse to get away from their wives one night a month for an almighty drinking session.
Of course, that may just be what they want me to think......

The point (which may be as silly as this entire conversation) is, that while there are certainly OTHER secret societies. They are not all the same. Comparing the FreeMasons to some hardline Catholic order of lunatics is silly.

lol, i dont know, if someone gave me a funny handshake id have to give them a funny smack. thats pretty wierd, near creepy. one of my friends did some joke handshake where you shake a persons hand and tickle thier palm with a bent finger in mid shake. yeah...... he doesnt do that anymore... im down with the black folks bump and shake, around the snake type of hand shaking, but anything other than that and the norm is just plain queer.
if anyone is mormon here or is in the know, dont mormons have to know a secret handshake also? to get into heaven? and holy underwear? sorry, some other wierd **** floating in my closet id like to seperate myth from fact.

It is a strange sect. What is clear is that if you need some backstabbbing and conniving done these are the people to do it for you. Both Bush and Kerry are members of The Skull and Bones Masonic fraternity at Yale. Houston Texas is a hotbed of Freemasonic/Jewish conspiracy. My wifes Grandfather was from there and a Freemason as well. He worked in Oil. Supported the Bush's. Freemasonry is to me a society for the promulgation of pro-Jewish propaganda and its "values." Reinhard Heydrich was a genuis by rounding them up and sending them to death camps. He nearly broke the back of their pro jewish conspiracy. If I were in charge I would seize lodge membership documents and systematically round them up for extermination. These people are plain evil and deserve the yoke be placed over their necks for a change. If you wanty to see them in action watch "From Hell." Yes, the British love Freemasonry!!!!! Cheerio!!!!!
