Watching it now, how can they get permission to show faces and names? Is it because they are not there anymore???

1 of 10 faces is blurred, why? You get close-ups of the rest of the team.
Vet inte, tror att de blankade är delta pojkar ;)
Intressant att se den moddade utrustningen
Förresten, du behöver inte prata engelska (de kan ju inte se programmet).

blured faces , could be CIA , Delta , reg SF , SOF , SOF from another country or just a guy who didnt want his face to be seen .
Faces and First name is usualy ok with Army SF . CBS 60 mins 2 had a thing about Army SF and they used first names and most had sunglasses on for PERSEC , But even on this page there are SF without the blurs in the photo section

I just watched a short clip, but those Americans was some of the most stupid and ignorant soldiers I have ever seen on television. The officer with the black beard (ok, all of them had black beard) should be removed from service and sent home to the states, otherwise he alone will be able to start a new world war just by walking around and harassing members of other cultures.
If all american soldiers are like them, they will loose the war, no doubt.

What happened?
I only saw a short clip, but the officer of the team divided Afghanistan people into three parts. They were bad, even more bad or really bad. According to this man (leading American soldiers in a war) people in Afghanistan were corrupt thieves and everyone took bribes or stole money. For him there are no good afghanistan citizens, only bad ones.
As Laibach once said: Americans are fighting evil with evil.
But it was interesting as their translator (a poor man that was dragged along the american forces), refused to translate the American officers harassements. He used a lot more nicer words than the officers.
Dont misunderstand me, the be honest, I really dislike the american operations in Iraq, but I thought Afghanistan was different. I thought the Americans was doing some good stuff in that country, but after this footage I was shocked. I will not judge all american soldiers after these men, but if I see more of this ****, then I hope the americans withdraw from afghanistan as soon as possible.

Yes I know this, but as the translator refused to translate his accusations, I interpreted the situation as the american soldier meant the prophet. But I might be wrong.
And I know this isnt a movie. In a movie they would not arrest two unarmed men, skip any plans of a trial and then threaten them with a visit to Guatanamo base. But this isnt any news, the americans have eben doing this for two years now.
For the americans: In the footage a group of american soldiers tried to catch a weapon smuggler. They did not find any weapons and there were no resistance.

I'm hearing two sides of the story here.
I'd like to know the whole story and not someones own interpratation.

Was this one following NG SF? Did they come across a camel with a car wreck on it's back?

SP: What will be the greatest threat U.S. Special Forces will have to face in Afghanistan ?
Andrei: The same that we had, the same thing. First you have to realize where their allegiance lies, when you come over their with a smile and hand out chocolate bars to their children you do not necessarily buy their loyalty. You have to realize that their loyalty lies with Allah. You are not Muslim so you are infidel. Taliban is Muslim, so they are their brother. So that is what they have to realize. Their food droppings they are doing now is not going to buy them nothing. These people have to realize these people have been at war at for 20 years. They have seen everybody, the Brit's, the Russians, everybody. The biggest thing will be the treachery. They'll smile, take your candy bar, and say thank you very much good ol Americans. Then when you leave the village they'll tell the local Taliban leader where you went, how many people, how you're armed, and so on and so on. So they ambush you.
trusting none of them may not be a far off assessment. i cant say, but im sure not going to question two pros.

Wow they arrested a man without weapons ? how strange . As we all know all terrorists has a AK in one hand and a pipebomb in the other with a T-shirt that says " Al Qaida" .
The documentry we are talking about is the NG SF one , Its been floating around on TV channels in Europe , Its also been on stream from from Dutch channel , most of us here have prob watched it , " Dutch SF doc "
the one with the car on the camels back
And Ars Moriendi , think about what you're saying , really sounds like you think going into hot targets is like a freakin tea party.
And the dude said "bad bad , good bad " '
Its really amazing that you can judge 12 ppl after just seeing a short clip.

That attitude did not win a war for Soviet either. Sure there are lots of dangers and lots of people that will do everything, for example lie, to be able to kill you, but if you confront people from another culture with a bad attitude you will end up hurting yourself or someone you care for.

They were looking for a weapon smuggler, but they found only two men without any weapons, not even for personal protection. Then its a bit of overkill to threaten them with Guatanamo.
And Ars Moriendi , think about what you're saying , really sounds like you think going into hot targets is like a freakin tea party.
I have never said anything like that. From the Americans point of view there was a clear danger. The proof is the fact that they did send in the local afghan soldiers before they entered the area themselves.
And the dude said "bad bad , good bad " '
Yes, but the explanation after did not fill my heart with joy. But as I am not a fan boy, I did not tape the show so I wont argue with you. You are probably right about the exact quotation, but there is a huge difference between how we interpret the footage.
Its really amazing that you can judge 12 ppl after just seeing a short clip.
Actually, I am just judging the one guy with the black beard. He will forever be a dangerous man in my eyes, until someone can show me something that will change my mind. I actually thought I was watching some anti-us comedy show, but after a minute or two, I started to realise that it was not fake. :(

Well, maybe we have other ideas about how to win a war? Some people might think its ok, but I do not. We just have to wait until the end to find out whos right or not.

They actualy say that "this was the arms dealer they were looking for"
And the story the guys were telling wasnt adding up , his brother said one thing and the arms dealer said another thing . You dont need to have any weapons to be a arms dealer , just intruducing the guys with the weapons to the Al qaida guys is enough . Theatening a guy with Guantanamo is not the same as sending him to Guantanamo . You dont get guys to talk by telling them " look we have no evidence , talk or we will have to let you go" you say stuff like " talk or we will send you to guantanamo "
The guy you said was all evil actualy said " there are guys on the take to stay in power , but they do good things with the money " So he said it was good and bad .

Interesting, I now assume you did not watch the program on Swedish television. Am I right? Because in the swedish version the man or woman that did the subtitles was very carefull to first translate what the american officer said in english/american to the translator and then what the translator said in native afghan language (what do they speak?) to the "weapon smuggler". In the translation he forwared a lot less harsh message, he even refused to say that thing about "muhammed the thief" (well, he did not tell the officer).
There might be a huge difference between translations over Europe (or the rest of the world), depending on what you are trying to bring forward to the viewer.
Edit: I would like to have a copy of the program as there was lots of things that disturbed me, but as I dont remember the words, I will only make a (yet larger) fool of myself if I write that **** down here.
This is the third or fourth thread about the same documentary and it's the secound time is showned on TV4.
Can't remeber for sure but I belive the team its about is not Army Green Berets but the National Guard SF's. I belive the GB is a little more profesional than these guys.
