M134 mounted on an M1026A1, when you absolutely positively have to kill every RPG-wielding jihadist or car full of civilians in the mofo room. Accept no substitute.

I think it belonged to Mike Dillion of Dillion Precision. They are building rebuild kits for the gov. And dude has one for the largest collection of class 3 weapons in the US. Seen vids of his quad .50 cal M2HB tearing up the AZ desert. One cool dude and makes the primo reloading presses.
I wondered the same concept.. Why not right? Alot of firepower in a small package.. However, I guess in populated areas (where most US humvees go these days) a minigun will be more likely to kill innocents..

Just an idea since a mini-gun is expensive and for most situations a .50 caliber is good enough.
Rate of fire is only really good for clearing a large space quickly (ie an LZ) or for shooting down helos.
I am kinda guessing that a minigun on the back of a humvee would be a greater threat to US forces if captured than it would be useful for crowd control... though it would look cool.
The Soviets had a gunpod for their Hinds that has a 4 barrel 50 cal and two 4 barrel 30 gatlings in it. The 50 cal gatling fires at 5,000 rpm and the 30 cals fire at about 6,000 rpm each. With about 1,500 rpg and four gunpods under he wings that would be one serious sht storm...

i have an old car and driver around that shows a suburban with a mini gun...built for some arab ruler....who got it for convoy protection....i havnt seen any pictures or heard confermed reports but the secret service might have similar set ups....so in all reality a hummer could be set up with a mini gun

it would be too impractical considering it takes a lotta power to run a 134, and you would have to do a lot more than just mount the 134 on the roof.

Maybe compared to an M240 or M249, but not compared to the standard M2HB which has far greater penetration. I would imagine that an M2HB would cause many more civilian casualties, tearing through walls and obstacles, while an M134 would just have a far greater *volume* of fire than M240 or M249. The M134 fire still goes about where you aim it, right?
