Hello,
While reading Chapter Three of Viktor Suvorov's INSIDE THE AQUARIUM he describes some interesting kit and clothing.
One of the items the Spetsnaz soldier has is a top coat-with a long "skirt" that goes down almost to his heels which can be buttoned on to the coat.
The purpose of this is to avoid wearing padded trousers which will cause the wearer to overheat while marching but a long coat will not. Keep warm but not too warm.
The "skirt" can be easily unbuttoned and rolled away when not needed.
Has anyone ever come across this type of garment/Russian phrase for it or a pic of it or has any suggestions on where to research it?
Maybe some of our Russian contributors know about this garment?
Suvorov also describes an anorak garment which is apparently the SPOSN Gorka pullover version but this is separate from the top coat description.
Sounds like a low tech and reliable solution to keeping in body heat without overheating.
Thanks for any help.
