Its called War. We've been doing it for tens of thousands of years. Don't ask stupid and lame questions like that you know you'll just get flamed.

what happened was,
we went there to get saddam
we got him.,
we wanted to set up a democratic gov't for them
and got attacked when we tried to help re-build iraq.
basicly were still there because the iraqis are still fighting us.
they're killing off the police and gov't staff
that want to help run the country.
if they were smart they would have waited
till we did all this and left the country.

we should leave iraq and go back to afghan
once we get the people we want in iraq.

In short?

War is politics and diplomacy by other means. Man pursues war for two reasons, 1) power, 2) resources. It is part of our animal nature as a competitive species and it makes us successful and we continue to survive because of it. It is a double-edged sword which has a brutal and vicious side to it. Darwinism + mother nature's population controls + might-is-right + because we can do it + the urge to survive and prosper.

Until the pursuit of power and or resources is no longer a human priority war will continue to exist. When we (humans) no longer pursue power or resources, the human species will decline.

You don't need to intellectualize or rationalize it any further - any conflict can be drilled down to those essentials. Right & Wrong are human distinctions we use to rationalize our irrational or anti-social actions as individuals, groups or whole societies. Any other analysis is a specific-case discussion.

I think originally it was because of two transport trucks that could have been chemical labs...then it was Saddam's tons of WMDs and his fleets of manned and unmanned aerial delevery drones and planes...then it was for Saddam...and then it was to bring freedom to Iraq; somewhere in there oil arguments surface.

West ,
show a little respect for the dead and don't try to instrumentalize them for your disagreement with the war.
While I'm no war supporter, I still have great respect for the soldiers serving there because they risk their lives everyday for a better Iraq.
Blame their government if you have to but not the men!! :bash:

im pretty sure he wasnt blameing the men i think he just wanted to say that they tried to help it didnt work so get outta there because they are dying and dying and in the end it was all for nearly nothing because iraq still has no freedom

but my answer to u west u dont know maybe they have freedom in a year or more but now u cant just leave the iraqi people alone because not every iraqi hates america or the whole western world some of them are happy that the U.S. Soldiers saved them just look at this picture:

The poster in Arabic says:
'We want to thank the American people and especially the American mothers who gave brith to thier sons which liberated the Iraqi people. May the US live long ... may president Bush live long. We urge the American forces to stay in Iraq to build a new Iraq'. (thanks to forum member Umm-Qasr for translation)

Freedom doesn't come on a silver platter. Iraqis are already exercising more freedoms than under Saddam's Regieme. Insurgent attacks are prolonging the transformation to a secure and democratic Iraqi State.

The lives of coalition soldiers are paying for Iraq's future. To disrespect those who died to ensure other people's freedoms is a dis-service to all freedom loving peoples.
