Below are a few interesting and disturbing links to information on the ways in which public schools and educational systems are accommodating/appeasing Muslims worldwide.
Looks like everyone is bending over backwards to accommodate Muslims, but not Christians. Why is there no howling about 'Separation of Church and State'? Is there a pattern here? This isn't "accommodation" at all, but appeasement, pure and simple. And we know from history that appeasement never works. Read on.
Look at this publication from an Islamic website:
How to Get Religious Accommodation in the Public School System: a 6-Step Guide (http://www.soundvision.com/Info/education/pubschool/pub.guide.asp)
Here's what it says in a nutshell: Six-Step Guide with tips and advice on getting a school to accommodate Muslim religious demands, such as giving a child a prayer room during lunch, or giving time off for Juma, or giving a day off for Eid. Not to mention wash basins for foot washing. Giving, giving, giving.
Step 1: Know the laws and regulations regarding the issues of religious freedom and accommodation of religion.
Step 2: Get support of the teacher. Then meet with the principal and the favorite teacher, requesting that your child be allowed to perform prayers on campus, for example. If you do not get what you want, proceed to Step 3.
Step 3: Leave a paper trail, but first, be really, really nice. Write letters to leave a paper trail. Be non-confrontational, you are only exercising your constitutional rights in the most respectful way. If need be, invite the teacher and principal over for dinner as a gesture of good will.
Step 4: Write to the supportive teacher, meet with the teacher, ask advice, discuss child's religious needs, share President Clinton's instructions to school districts on accommodating religious needs. After meeting, send a thank you letter to the teacher. Set up a second meeting and discuss your demands again. Be polite and non-threatening, you are only trying to accommodate your child's religious needs.
Step 5: Meet a second time with the supportive teacher and the principal. Bring state and local educational codes that relate to religious accommodation. Express your parental rights, but make it a win-win situation for everyone. By now, your child should have his religious needs accommodated.
Step 6: If necessary, repeat theses steps with the school district's superintendent. Write more letters and have more meetings until you get what you want.
[So the basic steps are to know the US laws, then ingratiate yourself to the school officials, meet with school officials, write letters to school officials, coerce school officials, then repeat these steps over and over again until you have the level of "accommodation" you desire.]
Muslim Accommodation in US Public Schools:
Ramadan in Public Schools (http://www.religionlink.org/tip_070917.php) - Public schools and universities across the country are considering Muslim students’ requests for religious accommodation during Ramadan, the holy month of prayer and fasting, which continues through Oct. 12. Accommodations can include separate rooms where fasting students can go during lunch; places for students to perform daily prayers; the consideration of requests to make Eid al-Fitr, the holiday that ends Ramadan, a school holiday; and the installation of footbaths in restrooms to make it easier for students to follow prayer rituals.
Most school officials try to grant such requests, according to observers, but such accommodations also bring challenges from those who claim they violate church-state separation by giving one religious group special treatment.

Oregon: Five Pillars of Islam Taught in Public Schools (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=52335)- Another school has been "teaching" Islam by having students study and learn Muslim prayers and dress as Muslims, and a lawyer who argued a previous dispute over this issue to the U.S. Supreme Court said such methodologies wouldn't "last 10 seconds" if it were Christianity being taught.
New Hampshire: City School Board to Review High School Crusader Mascot (http://www.jihadwatch.org/dhimmiwatch/archives/014760.php)- The school board will review the mascots of Central and Memorial high schools, after a former student complained they are offensive to some minorities.

Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas (outside Dallas) to demand that he immediately “cease and desist from [the] school’s illegal decision to punish Muslim students” for exercising their right to pray.

North Carolina: No More Bibles for the School Children (http://www.renewamerica.us/columns/creech/071130)- In an effort to appease the American Civil Liberties Union, that's what school officials in two counties in North Carolina (Cumberland and Harnett) essentially said to Gideons International recently. Before someone complained and the ACLU threatened legal action, the Gideons would simply place the Bibles on a table for students who may choose to pick one up. But not anymore!
California: Jailed Terror Suspect Helped ACLU Draft Schools’ Anti-Christian Rules (http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2004/1/13/172143.shtml) - Abdurahman Alamoudi, an alleged senior terrorist operative, is behind bars on an 18-count indictment. But he can take satisfaction in the fact that a court in California has just given the green light to schools following ACLU’s religion-in-the-classroom guidelines, which he helped to formulate. A federal judge has now upheld the constitutionality of an intensive three-week course in California government schools that requires children to choose a Muslim name, wear Islamic garb, memorize verses from the Koran, pray to Allah, play “jihad games, and simulate worship activities related to the Five Pillars of Islam.”
California: San Diego Debate over Muslim Prayer in Public School (http://www.jihadwatch.org/dhimmiwatch/archives/017235.php) - A San Diego public school has become part of a national debate over religion in schools ever since a substitute teacher publicly condemned an Arabic language program that gives Muslim students time for prayer during school hours.

Minnesota: Minneapolis College to Use Tax Dollars to Accommodate Muslim Students (http://www.onenewsnow.com/2007/04/minneapolis_college_to_use_tax.php) - The Star Tribune in Minneapolis has reported that Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) is planning to install facilities to help Muslim students perform ritual foot washing before daily prayers. The school's president says it’s no different than providing a fish option for Christian students during Lent. But Jan Markell, founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries (http://www.olivetreeviews.org/) in Minneapolis, says adding something to a cafeteria menu is a far cry from spending taxpayer dollars on something designed to benefit one religious group.
Michigan: Michigan School System to Accommodate Muslim Food Regulations (http://www.pluralism.org/news/article.php?id=1220) - On February 25, 2001, The New York Times reported that "officials are working on a plan to serve food that is halal, or permitted under Islamic rules," in several schools in Dearborn, Michigan, by this fall. The lack of halal meat in Dearborn has forced scores of students to throw out lunches, school officials say.
Florida: School Adds Muslim Holiday (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=47926) - A charter school in Florida has added an Islamic holiday to its calendar of days off next year.
