Is this how the world will remember the end of NPT ?

United States only care about all its allies having nuclear weapons.
China tried its best to block the deal so the world will be a safer place.
India sold out its sovereignity and becomes the new runing dog.

Yes, of course...the peace loving Chinese. How many nukes do they have? When was the latest upgrade to their arsenal?

Man, school is out i guess?

I must agree, USA once again demonstrates its ability for total hypocrisy.
Well, at least this is driving europeans away from united states policies and that is something to rejoice. With a bit of luck, McCain 'The hero' gets elected and the schism is complete.

Btw, where are the europeans policies going? I vote Sweden. And I'm not saying that because of their bikini team.

India isn't a signatory to the NPT, and the US is acting within the guidelines of the NPT, so how exactly does this "end" it? At least it puts some control on a previous non-signatory, which is something that didn't exist before.

It is a waiver. It send a message to the world that if you develop nuclear weapons over time it becomes acceptable. It also does nothing to encourage countries like Iran and N Korea to give it up. It also setup a nuclear arms race with Pakistan. If nobody take the leadership to eleiminate all nuclear weapons then what was the oringinal purpose of NPT for ?
It is the last nail in the coffin for NPT.

China only have 20 silo based strategic nuclear warhead.
China today only have a useless Xia class nuclear submarine that hardly venture out. One newer Jin class missile submarine is not yet deploy and it is 1970s technology anyway.
Other strategic delivery system by obsolete bombers are way too vunerable.

China also has a no first use of nuclear weapons policy.
China has a no use of nuclear weapons against a non-nuclear weapon country.
There are also no evidence that China has deploy any other types of Weapons of mass destruction such as chemicals and biological.

So, what about their nearly 500 theater based missile platforms?

China has a no use of nuclear weapons against a non-nuclear weapon country. So what does this have to do with the NPT? Let alone what are you even trying to say? You're not making any sense.

There are also no evidence that China has deploy any other types of Weapons of mass destruction such as chemicals and biological. And again, what does this have to do with the NPT?

It is the last nail in the coffin for NPT.

It's a waiver within the conditions of the NPT, and with the approval of the NSG. It serves the purposes of the NPT in that it places conditions upon India that it wasn't previously subject to.

The purpose of the NPT was never to eliminate all nuclear weapons - it was to limit the spread of those weapons. India has had nukes since 1974, so 30 years later, this deal doesn't "spread" anything to it...other than a requirement to submit to inspections.

Now if you have a way to "force" a stable democracy of 1.3 billion people, with a large, diversified and growing indigenous economy to give up their nuclear weapons, we'd all love to hear it. With or without our approval, they will have their nuclear weapons, and since they have a no-first-use policy and a 30 year record of non-use and non-proliferation, there isn't much traction to be found to go invading them. But just for the record, I fully support invading anybody.

The theater based missiles are not nuclear tipped and is for defense of China sovereignty and not targeted at any country.

Again China only have One Nuclear missile sub. Only one. US probably has 2 to 3 hunters tracking it every second.

As for China Nuclear weapon use policy, I was addressing somebody else concern. It is clearly meant for a credible deterent against nuclear blackmail. Other nuclear weapons country do not have a no first use policy. And they also target non nuclear weapons country. So China has no choice. But China did not create 10s of thousands of nuclear warheads like Russia or US. China maintain a small amount ... just enough to deter. A wise decision.....no ?
