The Infantry Warfighter Conference held here at Ft. Benning, GA. I had the opportunity to spend some time walking around talking with vendors.

Most of the big vendors were out with names like Surefire, LWRC, Magpul, FNH, SigArms, Colt and a range of other vendors.

The exhibitions included weapon systems, communication systems, SUGV, UAVs and a host of other things that your imagination can dream up.

I was able to get a few pictures. I apologize right off the bat for, one not having more pictures and two not taking the time to actually get a good picture. I was in a rush as I only had a few hours there and I had a lot to see.

Also, I got a pic of a LSAT Demo go that was the actual weight of the weapon. Boy is that sucker light weight. There was a retired LTC there who now works for them explaining the entire system and it was demoed here on Ft. Benning not that long ago and it received rave reviews. Tragically they didn't have a working weapon there so I was not able to take a look inside and check out that rotating chamber system.

I wasn't sure if I should put this thread in the Pictures Forum or the Gear Forum. So I went with Gear.

A SUGV that has a mounted 240, and 4 count them 4 203 launchers. All controlled by an operator at an unknown distance away.

Wow that's some cool stuff. Are they actually replacing the M-2? I guess they just want to make all the guns look like there out of Halo lol.

That what I was told. The reason behind the replacement is that with a barrel swap and can fire 20mm grenades. So you essentially get two weapons on one platform. Well it won't be a full replacement. It is actually planned to augment the M2, meaning that some Light Infantry, Special Operations and airborne/airmobile forces will get it because of the added benefit of less weight. For mounted purposes, the M2 does just fine.

It was a demo AR that Magpul had to display the CTR, MOE Grip and the rail covers.

Nothing special inside.

Saw a vid of that on youtube (think it was that 'mack' bloke....crackers he is) looks like a good system if it becomes operational. The .50 has proven to be an invaluable weapon in afghanistan, but currently it can only practically be used from a vehicle mounted or static defensive postition. Giving airborne/airmobile units the capablity of the .50 in a more rapidly deployable package has to be good. Even without the 20mm grenade system.

This time it was huge, I don't think BLDG 4 has the space that this show required. Iron Works is a pretty decent venue

I wish I was able to spend some more time there, b/c there was a lot I didn't get to see. Specifically the FN table. A few more hours and I would have had a load of pictures.

That holosight for the .50 is awesome !!!

The lightweight .50 looks interesting too....kinda looks like the automated guns that the space marines in "Aliens" used for security.

Well it was at the B.E. Meyers & Co. INC Electro Optics booth.

The cool thing about it is that is a red dot reticule just like the Eotech in which there is a large circle with a dot in the middle. It is different because it allows change the elevation on the sight to account for distance. It has a knob on the side that you can adjust to go all the way out to 1200m. Which for a .50cal is still accurate on point targets.

B.E. Meyers, btw, makes some of the coolest I.R. lasers I have ever laid my hands on.

I have always disliked the "warfighters" terminology. It smells of idiot politicians who either never bothered to learn the correct address for you guys who are warriors or that they are scared of the name , knowing that the only way to control warriors is through respect and none of them are worthy of that.

Anyway.....nice looking toys but the M2 will always be the daddy!
