It sounds extremer than it actualy is. It's not some kind of communist party who wants to make our country like Cuba or North-Korea.
They basicly want to stop further privatasation of public companies, like public transport. They want to give the partlement (thus the people) more power instead of the European Commision (nobody votes for them). They want to protect sovereinity, so they don't want a new supergovernment controlling all european countries. And they want the ECB (european central bank, who makes all the imporantant financial decisions) to answer to the parlement (now, nobody controls them, so nobody except for the ECB controls the financial politics).

I see these "campaign posters" all over the place here, and none of the parties or individuals are really that interesting. May they be in Finland or Sweden, but I'm not voting..

Yes they're a bunch of spineless bastards who will become corrupt if they aren't already and are manipulative useless arses. They'll use our taxes for their overpaid salaries, claim they're over worked and set-up some more governmental positions to decrease their work loads. Final conclusion is that we pay more and get less.
Dutch Soc. Party is a bunch of morons, why vote.
...thanks for your well-informed 'gob****e' (copyright, all rights reserved by gaz 2004) reply. They're becoming predictable.
I managed to vote for three different parties
european elections, london elections, mayor of london, mayor of london second choice
none of that UKIP scum though, not even as a protest vote

Theres a guy in Ireland going for it, Clifford T. Reid, he's an independant and his campaign slogan is "Stop the paedophiles"
He's got my vote.
Oh no you're very welcome, just a little repayment for you Euro-bitches always telling us Americans who to vote for. No thanks needed.
We Euro-bitches at least know what the issues at hand are when we support
someone in an American election and therefore don't make asses out of ourselves.

I thought the Senior Citizens Party deserved to win, it'd be like the epsiode of the Simpsons where the old people take charge.

Depends on which party you vote for. Couple of months ago there was a report on salary frauds in European Parlement. The green and socialist praties were about the only parties without frauds. The christian and rightist parties were full of frauds though.

Not really!
Not much choice:
-Some independant bloke...hello?....who are you?....policies please?
-Conservitives............................(see above)
-Labour......................."The conservatives have no policies...because we've stolen all of them."
-Lib Dems..................(can't think of anything to say.....)
-BNP.........................."Kick out all foreigners and try and persuade the british public to get a work ethic so we can take back the jobs we left to 'go on the sick' and claim benefits, which hard-working immigrants happily filled."
-UKIP........"We're not like the BNP at all, they don't wan't foreigners in our country, we just don't want them to come here."
Still voted though.
Might as well.
I don't really feel 'empowered' at all though.

On the postal vote (I helped my Mum with hers.) for the local election there was only the big three, quite surprising actually. For the MEP one there were loads, you had the OAP Party, Peace Party, Christian something Party et cetera.
